Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Cook Off

No study today.

I spent quite a bit of time in the kitchen though and really enjoyed it.

Chicken stock, pumpkin soup and curried sausages with rice.  We had the curry for dinner tonight.

I spent a little time in the garden and found a giant passionfruit which had fallen from the vine but was stuck on some branches very well hidden.  It had been there for a while because it was obviously old and quite shrivelled.

I wish I'd taken a photo of it before I threw it in the garbage, but I did take a photo of how much meat was in it!  Almost a whole cup!  It wasn't very sweet, but it was still ok to eat.

That was my #100happydays photo for the day.

There was an egg in the henhouse today.  That's 3 days in a row.  'Happy' is laying.  Now we just have to convince Hector and Helen to lay!

Adoring Husband arrived home safe n sound this afternoon.

All is right with the world.

Nite all.
