Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

R & R & R

Vaccine Adverse Events

Today was more resting, relaxing and rejuvenating.

Harley play is always a priority.

I watched the movie “Blade Runner 2049” (Ryan Gosling/Harrison Ford) which I had never seen before and enjoyed very much.

I had a two hour ZOOM call with The Gypsy.

For dinner, I cooked Honey Chicken and vegetables with rice.

We’ve watched a few games of pre season NRL.

I am now watching “Death Becomes Her” an old 1992 (32 years old!!!) movie starring Meryl Streep, Goldie Hawn and Bruce Willis.

I’ll put the timer on and fall asleep to this one.

Early Rain Making Experiments in QLD

Australian Govt Intentional Release of GMOs

It was an exhausting two days on Sunny Coast!

Four hours walking around Eumundi Markets and spending up big. The weather was hot and the crowds surprisingly big. There were LOTS of stalls and my purchases included a large hand crafted bird house with bird feeder, a malachite ring …

… 3 bracelets, 5 x birthday gifts, a journal and 2 x hanging mobiles for under the Bali hut and some wind chimes.

We were so exhausted, we drove home and napped all afternoon! We had an early dinner at the RSL and returned home to sleep some more.

On Thursday, before we drove home, Sunshine Plaza was our destination. We shopped for 2 hours … 5 x tops, 2 x bras, a handbag for Hazey, pyjamas, knickers, GF cakes and tarts, GF donuts and more.

Once again, we were exhausted, but had to make the 2.5 hour drive home. We stopped at Gympie on the way to buy a box of GF pies from Beefy’s.

We were home by 2pm.

Even though it was short, it was a really nice break away from home, but it was also great to return home and see Adoring Husband, Harley and my lovely bed.

Today was a rejuvenate and rest day so I did absolutely nothing apart from play with Harley.

Now it’s almost midnight and I’m ready to sleep … again.

We Are Here

The two bedroom apartment is small and cosy.

If we were staying for a week or two it would be unacceptable, but for two nights, we can handle it.

Apparently it’s one of a few apartments NOT refurbished, so the furnishings are old, the kitchen is tiny and difficult to work in (lucky I don’t plan on cooking), it’s not air conditioned and the two pedestal fans provided, are on their last legs.

We are on the third floor so there is a bit of a water view.

My bed is VERY comfortable.

The TV is a very old smart TV but it takes 20 seconds for each channel to load which is very frustrating.

There is free wifi which works at a decent speed.

We left home at 10.30am and arrived in Maroochydore around 1pm. We were so tired that we decided to find lunch in Sunshine Plaza before checking into our room. That was a bad move because the food court didn’t have a lot to offer.

I bought two new bras in Myers.

Maroochy RSL was our choice for dinner. I chose a hearty bangers and mash with onion gravy and peas. BGWLBH had steak with chips and salad. They were both very enjoyable.

Tomorrow night we’re going to our favourite Thai restaurant around the corner.

I’m exhausted now and we’ll be leaving early for Eumundi markets so it’s sleep time for me.

Nite all.

Breakaway

No time to chat.

Leaving for the Sunny Coast in the morning after meditation.

Much to do.

Will be away for two nights and I’m looking forward to the break.

We went to the movies today - first time in about 5 years! We saw “Anyone But You”.

It was crap.

BGWLBH and I would have left the cinema after about 20 minutes but Bubbles wanted to stay so we persevered. It was nothing more than a Foxtel Hallmark movie made for TV. Poor acting. Predictable story line.

Time for me to sleep now.

Tripping

Tonight, as a test run, Harley is sleeping in Adoring Husband’s room.

BGWLBH and I plan on driving Bubbles back to Nambour on Tuesday and we have booked an apartment for two nights as a mini getaway.

Harley has always slept in my room so we thought we’d better have a test run before we go, to make sure our trip away would be problem free for Adoring Husband.

My room feels very empty and very quiet without my furry boy in here.

It sounds very quiet at the other end of the house, so I guess the test will be in the morning when AH goes to work at 4.30am.

Today, we did art and played trivia.

I made a trifle which took 2 hours. I’d prepared the jelly last night and did home made egg custard today, whipped the cream and baked butter cake as the base.

It wasn’t my best - next time I’ll do a double batch of custard.

MAFS tonight!

We are going to the movies tomorrow. I’d best get some sleep.

Nite all.
