Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

My Kind of Day

Low productivity today and it felt good.

I was up at 9am and while Adoring Husband was off buying coffee (yes I know!), I took Harley out to play.

I hung out a load of washing and brought the dry stuff inside.

I reheated some chicken sausages in leftover gravy for my breakfast and when I’d eaten my fill, gave my leftovers to AH who always tells me how much he dislikes chicken sausages, but he hogged them down pretty well!

We watched some old 90s rugby league games for a couple of hours before I moved to my bedroom and watched some Mayim Bialik, followed by Chase Hughes and then some David Bayer all on YouTube.

I took Harley out for another play and then prepared for dinner - spaghetti Sunday - easy peasy.

I’m now watching the final round of the DP India Championship golf where my favourite, Rory McIlroy has completely underperformed with a very disappointing tournament.

No solid plans for tomorrow - perhaps I’ll be productive and do some cleaning or some art or some writing or some riding or perhaps nothing at all haha.

This first meme that I’ve posted is completely true. When I was aged 5 and 6 after two surgeries, my bed was wheeled out onto the sun deck every morning at 10am for 30 minutes of sunshine. The same when my kids were born. The doctor and monthly nurses would recommend to lay the baby naked in direct sunshine for 10 minutes every morning to provide vitamin D and help build their immune system.

Nite all.
