Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Rain is atumblin’

68mm of rain today.

BGWLBH and I spent the day in the bay - she, working and me, having “me time”.

We drove home at 3pm and the road was closed at 4pm. Whew! Just in the nick of time.

There have been storm warnings sent out via text and predicted wind gusts of 120kph! That’s pretty scary. The weather that hit us from the north has headed out to sea and now there is new weather coming from the south.

Spag bol for dinner, followed by lime/passionfruit meringue tart.

Now it’s time to sleep.

Nite all.

Tis The Season

Footy season is back!

After round one, Adoring Husband leads the footy tipping competition by 2 points. He is very smug about it. Let’s see how long he retains the lead.

We’ve received 26mm of rain since 9am today. It’s very wet and Harley is NOT happy about it. The garden IS very happy about it!

This week, I had a day in the bay, I got my sketch book out …

It’s not done and I doubt that I will finish it because it’s very confronting getting up close and personal with your wrinkles and saggy bits. I’ll see how I feel later.

I’ve rebounded every day, I have recommenced my morning habit of warm lemon water, I made a lime/passionfruit meringue tart …

It was delicious!

I’ve tended my garden, I made a new batch of colloidal silver, I precooked some meals to freeze for the week and I watched all of the NRL games as well as some golf.

Number One Son commenced Uni in Perth and is being arty farty as well as trying his hand at creative writing.

The infection in Adoring Husband’s leg has healed well, but he has gashed both of his legs while working in the garden, so there are other wounds to be concerned about. Honestly, it’s never ending!

That’s about all I’ve got.

Nite all.
