Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Not Today

I got nothing.

Spent the day in The Bay. Bought food.

Oh! Here is the new jewellery that Adoring Husband bought me after I put it on layby at Tinkerbell’s …

It’s laramar and silver.

I have another day in The Bay tomorrow. Heart of Gold is picking me up and we are lunching at The Gypsy’s home. She’s been there 7 weeks and I’ve not been there yet!

I have to get up early to bake a vegan cake to take with me.

There were three words in that last sentence that rhyme.

Did you go back and check it?

Time to sleep.

Nite all.

ZOOMING Along

"A true friend doesn't need to be knocking on your door every day.

A true friend is someone you may not even see in years.

But still you can get together, eat ice cream and put the words to rights like you've never been apart ...

True friends' hearts are always open for each other, disregarding times of physical absence.

True friends see sunshine in each other's company ... even when it rains."

I started my day by getting out of bed at 8am, making myself some tea and toast, then returning to bed for a ZOOM call with The Gypsy that started at 8.30am.

The ZOOM call lasted for 3.5 hours!

It was awesome.

Nothing else of interest.

Playing with Harley.

Watching my quiz shows.

Cleaning the toilets.

Cooking dinner.

Playing trivia.

More TV.

BED.

Tricky Start

Millions paid out to Victorians injured by mandatory Covid-19 jab

WorkSafe Victoria recently disclosed a significant surge in WorkCover claims linked to adverse reactions from the Covid-19 vaccine, surpassing $6.8 million in payouts.

The latest figures reveal a concerning trend, with the number of affected individuals rising from 125 in July to 130, marking a steady increase despite vaccination campaigns.

Among these cases, 28 workers have reportedly yet to return to their jobs, while many others have struggled to resume full-time duties.

State legislation allows workers experiencing severe reactions such as fever, blood clots, allergic reactions, seizures, or strokes to file claims for compensation.

The financial burden on WorkCover has spiked by 55 per cent in the past nine months alone, escalating from $4.37 million to the current $6.8 million.

A spokesperson from WorkCover confirmed the figures, indicating the acceptance of 130 Covid-19 vaccine-related claims from affected workers, including those in critical roles such as teachers, nurses, firefighters, and paramedics.

Despite the rising number of cases, the stigma surrounding vaccine injuries has deterred many individuals from openly discussing their health struggles.

Media reports have shed light on the ordeal faced by claimants, with some expressing doubts about their prospects of full recovery. The situation unfolds amidst ongoing vaccine mandates for specific health workers and firefighters in Victoria, while thousands across the country grapple with accessing compensation through the federal government’s Covid-19 Vaccine Claims Scheme.

The Scheme, covering adverse reactions resulting in hospitalisation or death following vaccination with TGA-approved Covid-19 vaccines, remains active with an extended application deadline until September 30.

Meanwhile, a class action lawsuit with over 500 applicants continues in the Federal Court, alleging negligence on the part of the Therapeutic Goods Administration in approving multiple vaccine brands amid the pandemic.

My day did not start well, with my body deciding to purge ‘something’. No other symptoms like a high temperature or stomach cramps or any type of discomfort, just every so often, a wave of nausea and the resulting trip to the ‘bowl’.

It was weird, lasted about four hours and then I felt a bit lethargic for the remainder of the day.

It also meant that I had to miss meditation and qi gong this morning.

That sucked.

It was cold today. After I took Harley out to play, I made breakfast, put on my ugh boots and snuggled under a blanket on the couch for the day, allowing Adoring Husband to take care of me.

I still had to clean the loos this afternoon and then came home cooked tacos and nachos for dinner.

It’s time to sleep now because I have a ZOOM meeting with The Gypsy early-ish in the morning.

Who Cares?

I’ve had a crap day.

No I don’t wish to discuss it.

The positives - Harley. I’ve done ok with NRL footy tipping. Carlton won in the AFL and are now 2nd on the ladder. I cooked a nice baked dinner with rolled lamb, but didn’t eat any of it. The French Open final is about to begin.

Adoring Husband supervised a mate doing his job for him this morning.

I rode my trike to work this afternoon.

Now I’m outta here.
