- made all the preparations for the art class (with a little help from a friend)
- washed the dishes and cleared the kitchen
- served three interstate customers who selected a stack of snap buttons and jewellery from the FB page and either messaged or phoned me to make the purchases
- gift wrapped a purchase for a customer
- stapled biz cards to big stacks of carry bags
- prepared nibbles for the class
I'm lazy and selfish and spend too much time on the internet. I love to be creative with photography and jewellery and sketching with pencil and pastels. I'm happier now than I have ever been and I love everything about my life ... where I live, my home, my fantastic grown up children, my lifestyle, my friends, my dogs and last but not least my wonderful adoring husband. Life is good!
Nice to see you!

Sleepy
I’m just waiting for the rain.
I’ve been watching the BOM - not in a scared or worried way - but in a hopeful, interested way - and it looks like we might get some steady rain for a while. Nothing significant or heavy, but probably enough to make the weather even more steamy tomorrow than it was today.
The wind has been gale force for most of the day too, which adds to the discomfort!
I had a fairly slow day with few customers, but the few customers spent freely, so sales were good.
I went from this many emails …
… to this many emails …
That’s called productive decluttering! I’ll do the rest in the morning - I’m well aware that my joy at having only 1400 unopened emails is somebody else’s trigger for a meltdown haha.
I received an email from Grannymus (my first mother-in-law, or what we used to call ‘mother-in-love’) today. I can’t believe she just turned 91!
It was so nice to hear from her and to know that she still reads my blog. I’m sending warm hugs for her today.
I filled my belly with healthful green juice for breakfast, fresh prawns with mango and avocado for lunch and crispy skinned salmon with salsa (mango, avocado, cucumber, coriander and dressing) for dinner.
My body is already thanking me - except I still didn’t drink enough water. I did enjoy my anti-inflammitea this afternoon though.
I’m working on my food intake to reduce my bloated belly.
Now it’s time to sign off so that I can go to bed and fall asleep to the sound of rain.
This is a road trip memory from back in the days when we were a free country.
Will we ever be free again?
Nite all.

A Bit Sorry
Meditation was almost a full house and we talked about “following our intuition”.
Surprisingly, there were a few tears during the class as people had some aha moments that touched them a little deeper than usual.
The Gypsy stayed for about an hour afterwards and we talked ‘life’.
I had a nice visit from Aggie but I’m a bit sorry that I chewed her ear off about stuff. Sorry Aggie 😘
I mentioned to a few of my regulars that I was planning on selling the shop so word should spread pretty fast and some time soon I’ll post it onto the Facebook page.
Then it’s ‘wait and see’.
I passed my minimum takings today but it was slow going.
The local caravan parks are looking very empty at the moment. Next week might be a good time to shut the shop so that I can have a staycation.
Adoring Husband bought some seafood for me today but he didn’t realise the sand crabs were uncooked. I attempted to cook them by following the instructions that I found online, but the meat was mush so they went in the bin.
What a waste!
Instead I ate some prawns and AH had leftover chicken. Mixed fresh berries with LF cream for dessert.
It was a night of trashy TV. Big Brother VIP, The Bachelorette and Love Island.
It’s almost midnight so I’d best get some sleep.
Nite all.

Ever So Quiet
Today was the quietest Tuesday in a long while.
I blame the unpredictable weather. There was wind and humidity and showers and thunder.
Only The Brains Trust and Maid Marian came for coffee this morning. Beauty came for a visit about 25 minutes after they’d left the shop.
The Happy Hippy did an hour of garment steaming.
I priced the steamed clothes and hung them for display, set up the table for journaling, paid a bill, filed some paid invoices and sorted through the snap buttons to fill the trays.
I made a sale over the phone with a customer in Sydney and talked with another out of area customer about taking photos of my snap button trays and jewellery so that she can choose some to purchase.
Journaling went well.
I was home by 4pm and crumbed some chicken tenderloins to air-fry in the oven. They were served to Adoring Husband with some zucchini slice, tomato and avocado. I had mango and avocado with mine.
Today our QLD Premier announced the opening of our borders on 17th Dec and all the rules that will apply to the unvaccinated for an indefinite period, so I’ve decided to sell my shop.
I don’t want to be checking anyone’s vaccination status as they walk in the door.
I don’t want to turn the unvaccinated away.
I don't want to be vaccinated to keep my business.
I don’t want the “powers that be” to make my happy place my unhappy place.
So I’m putting it on the market and I hope to create new happy memories in my happy home.
I’ll be practicing my power to detach to help me let go of this one!
It’s now approaching 11.30pm and I’m up early tomorrow for meditation.
Here are some pics of my beautiful girls.
Nite all.

Fluff Day
It was well after 8.30am when I woke this morning.
I lay in bed for a long time focusing on my breathing, noticing the weight of my body against the mattress, listening to the neighbourhood sounds of Sunday and feeling the breeze floating through the window.
It was a really calm way to start my day.
I’m not sure what time I got up to make breakfast.
Adoring Husband is still struggling with his back, so I cooked up some healing food for him - bacon, egg, tomato, baby spinach and avocado.
For myself I caramelised peach halves and spread toast with avocado topped with the fattiest part of the bacon. Yum!
We spent the entire day binge watching fluffy Netflix movies.
I reheated last nights leftover chicken casserole for a late lunch and dinner was a nonevent.
It’s been a perfectly divine lazy day together in front of the telly.
This evening I’ve been reading lots of stories from “Frontline Workers Speak Out” group. Mostly nurses, health care workers and aged care workers. There are hundreds of stories and 63,000+ subscribers.
I picked out a couple of stories to share.
Australia wide there is something like 20,000 nurses and health care workers refusing to get the jab. Surely that means something. 3000 nurses protested in Adelaide a few days ago.
6000 nurses in Queensland have been stood down or suspended.
I’ve spoken directly to two nurses, one from Maryborough and one from Bundaberg, both of whom tell me that their hospital emergency departments and ICUs are full of patients with vaccine adverse reactions and their instructions are to tell people that they are ‘busy with covid related issues’.
It’s getting crazy out there but mainstream media are still repeating the same stuff over and over.
Apparently I’m the crazy one.
One more for good measure …
What Flags?
Because I had a supplier with me on Friday afternoon, Adoring Husband put my teal and yellow flags on the floor of the shop instead of in the training room where he usually puts them.
This morning I pointed at them on the floor and said to him “Flags”.
He huffed at me and told me he had to wedge the door open and move the chairs out of the way first. So I helped him do those things.
I had two visitors during the morning, which was a pleasant way to pass time when there were no customers in sight.
At 11.20am after a VERY quiet morning and just one customer through the door, I noticed that those pesky flags were STILL ON THE FLOOR!
I took them outside and planted them in their poles and then phoned AH to make him feel as guilty as possible.
From that moment on, it was busy, busy, busy!
I wonder if that’s proof that the flags work and I should put some money towards some new ones - the current flags are looking a bit the worst for wear.
I was very happy with my sales for this morning and I was still serving customers at ten past closing time!
After work, my afternoon could have included a swim but instead we watched a fluffy Christmas movie on Netflix, followed by a pretty good mystery with some big names in it like Jamie-Lee Curtis, Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Don Johnson, Christopher Plummer, Toni Collette and more. I enjoyed that one.
A chicken casserole made with a base of home made cauliflower soup was good enough for AH to return for a second helping.
Good grief! It’s now after midnight!
Nite all.
