Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

What a Flourish!

My day was very slow to start.

I did a lot of garment steaming in the first 90 minutes, then I checked the mail, sat down to a cup of tea and wondered where everyone was!

By midday, I had just reached my happy minimum.

I checked my emails, finalised an order of jewellery that I’d had on hold for about six weeks, made a big pile of paperwork ready for filing.

At 1pm I had a surge of customers that more than doubled my sales for the day, making it a very good day!

At 1.40pm I received a phone call from a new supplier who had my first order ready for personal delivery but she was just leaving Hervey Bay so I agreed to stay open until she arrived.

At 1.50pm a regular local walked in the door with friends and she asked “Are you about to close?” I told her it was their lucky day and I’d be open for another 30 minutes. Another lady walked in at the same time.

By 2.30pm I had once again more than doubled my ‘very good’ sales!

So what a great day to finish off a great week still with half a day yo go.

While I’m not usually one to get into Covid discussions with my customers, I was feeling particularly tender today because my bestie was forced against her will to have the vaccination today, or lose her job.

An annual holiday maker who comes into the shop every year made an off handed but emotional comment about teachers and vaccinations which triggered my very passionate response with a shipload of statistics and information that in the beginning she attempted to argue about but in the end she had nothing else but mainstream fear mongering to throw at me.

My final argument citing some close personal experiences was enough to stop her in her tracks.

I was surprised by her words as she left the shop “You still have a beautiful shop and I’ll be back.”

Honestly, I was not in a great place and I was quite prepared to forever lose her custom.

I was very happy to watch Wayne Bennett’s Bunnies defeat Manly in tonight’s preliminary final! They played a fabulous game and I think I’ll support them in the Grand Final next week.

Now it’s time to sleep.

Nite all.

Early Mark

It’s not even 5.30pm and I am in bed 😍

Adoring Husband is at SES training and the house is all mine.

I cooked an early dinner and was sitting in my pyjamas about to watch a movie on Netflix when I thought - I can go to bed with a cup of tea and watch the movie on my iPad.

Brilliant!

I had a great day at work. Not a lot in sales but I passed my happy minimum.

There were lots of tyre kickers wasting time until their food was ready at the cafe.

This gave me time to do my favourite thing … steam more garments 😩

I steamed approximately 18 garments because I turned the steamer off every time a customer came through the door. There were lots of teenagers about today, in groups, so I figured I should stay alert.

My last sale for the day happened at 10:45am. Everybody else was just looking.

The Silver Fox came to visit for about half an hour. We chatted about the group brunch that happened on Tuesday as well as her many overseas travels. She has certainly been there and done that and has a gift for telling her stories. I am always entertained when she’s in the room!

Crystal M Dee (the lady whose crystals I once sold in the shop) also came for a visit at the same time but she decided to return tomorrow so that we can have a bit of time together.

I was feeling much better today and I think I’ve worked out that the new supplements (vit d, vit c, zinc and quercetin capsules), that I began taking last Tuesday we’re making me feel nauseas. I was feeling sick every day except for one - which was the day I forgot to take them!

So I didn’t take one last night or this morning and I’m feeling fantastic.

All I had today was half a banana and a cup of tea which gave me enough energy to get through my day comfortably.

We stopped off at Klocca’s house to pick up some of her home grown tomatoes and while I was there, I checked out her new timber flooring. I LOVE it! It’s a gorgeous colour and I know exactly what I want if or when we decide to do our floors. Very sleek and stylish.

I moved straight into the kitchen to cook dinner when I got home and my evening is now mine to do as I please … the house is deliciously silent with no TV noise in the background and I feel like I could nod off to sleep right now … but then I’d be awake at midnight.

We don’t want that.

So I’ll go watch my movie. AH should home by the time it’s finished and then I’ll sleep!

Nite all.

Super Duper

I had a blinder of a day!

It started with meditation where we discussed how sometimes, for our emotional health, we need to leave people behind who are not ready to move forward with us and how we shouldn’t allow anyone to hold us back or allow then to overstep our boundaries when it’s to our detriment.

Obviously over the period of an hour, there was a bit more to the discussions but we all got a lot out of this class and there was lots of talking even when the class was over. Some of the participants even returned during the day to give more feedback.

I put The Happy Hippy to work on the new steamer and she got through quite a few of the garments in her hour.

The Gypsy stayed for about an hour and as always we had some meaningful conversations.

From 10am onwards the customers just kept coming!

Sales were fabulous and I was kept on my toes all day with time for just a cup of tea at lunch time.

I have to say that I was not feeling very well for most of the day so it was a stretch for me to make it to closing time. I feel better this evening and I think a good nights sleep will help.

When we left the shop this afternoon, there was a bushfire that had gotten out of control in the centre of town. The smoke was crazy and dense …

My bedroom window was open so inside the house was smoky and my eyes were stinging.

Adoring Husband had to hose down the Bali hut because burning embers were floating through the air. He also folded down the pool umbrella to prevent ash build up.

He was called out on SES duty to help with traffic control and they blocked off one street with detours.

A wind change late in the afternoon sent the smoke and embers in a different direction but the fire was still burning after dark …

For AH’s dinner, I cooked bacon wrapped asparagus, stuffed zucchini, boiled potato and grilled tomato. I had a creamy veg and chicken soup out of the freezer for my dinner.

It’s bed time for me now.

Nite all.

Found It!

My missing package has been found!!

This is what arrived today (not all of the colours) …

I think I’m going to purchase the yellow one for myself. I love it!

I also have some bag organisers.

We opened the shop 30 minutes earlier than usual because Adoring Husband had to be at the SES shed at 9am.

It was busy enough in the shop that I didn’t get much time with the girls for coffee this morning and sales for the day were very good, even with all the tyre kickers.

In between customers, I steamed some clothes, booked a FaceTime appointment with an interstate sales rep, cleared out some drawers to store new excess stock, cleared some emails, removed the washed art stuff from the kitchen and set up for journaling.

Journaling was productive and afterwards we set up the room for meditation and I vacuumed the shop floors.

I was pretty worn out by the end of the day so after a cup of anti-inflammitea I cooked some salmon steaks with vegetables and creamy mushrooms.

We watched five episodes of ‘Back to the Rafters’ on Amazon Prime before coming to bed.

How windy is it???! It’s so strong coming through my bedroom windows, it blew the slats of the shutters closed! They are not loose shutters!

I’m enjoying the cool wind blowing over the bed and I’m looking forward to snuggling under the covers for a good nights sleep. Now that it’s Spring, the days and nights are warming up so it won’t be long til sleeping is less sound and more sweaty!

Sleep time for me.

Nite all.

Manic Monday

Nope.

It wasn’t manic at all.

I enjoyed a very relaxing Monday, mostly in bed, and you’ll be pleased to know there was little research done so this will be an education-free blog post!

There was a little bit of work to do.

Confirming a small order of clothing to arrive this week.

I had to send an email to the courier with pictures and prices of the stock that has gone missing. Ugh!

I completed a mini course on how to create an online course. I wasn’t impressed and certainly won’t be paying him to teach me more.

We had to wait for my new garment steamer to be delivered before we could go clear the training room at the shop, so I got out of my smelly pyjamas, showered and washed my hair. I felt like a new person.

It didn’t take long to clear the room and I unpacked and set up the steamer to give it a test run. It works.

We decided to make pizzas on paleo bases for dinner so we stopped for a couple of things to put on them before coming home.

It was after 5pm when we got home so we cooked dinner straight away.

Adoring Husband was all worn out because he mowed the lawns this morning and then helped me at the shop this arvo so he went to bed before 8.30pm.

Oh! My cousin’s daughter (who used to come here every July for the touch footy carnival) became a Queensland Champion weight lifter over the weekend! She is an amazing sports person and gifted at all sports that she attempts - surfing, running, hurdling, high jump, long jump, touch football etc.

It’s been a most relaxing and enjoyable day and I’m looking forward to work tomorrow. I’ve had a rejuvenating weekend.

Nite all.

More Education

Astrid Stuckleberger stepped away from her position with WHO on moral/ethical grounds and tells the story here. I have a copy of her impressive 21 page resume and here are the first three pages …

This video gives her account …

https://rumble.com/embed/vg9emb/?pub=4

She is now known as a “whistleblower” as are many people from FDA, CDC, WHO, UN, ILO, Pfizer and other pharma companies, government departments, medical and science institutes, research centres, funeral homes, hospitals, nursing homes, respite centres, the armed forces and the list goes on and on.

But if you search google for ‘whistleblowers’ the first few pages only provide info on the original Chinese scientist from Wuhan who blew the whistle and consequently died a few days later. You’ll find little to nothing on the many Covid whistle blowers now ‘out there’.

Mainstream platforms censor information so vigorously, that only the current narrative gets to us via mainstream and social media.

Even Duck Duck Go can’t be trusted.

There are other platforms such as Bit Chute, Telegram and Rumble that censor nothing. This means that there are a lot of ‘fruit loops’ floating around but if you use discernment, gut instinct, your intelligence and some extra research, you’ll find the ‘real deals’.

When you do, you’re taken into another world that puts everything into perspective and you get to pull up a chair and watch everything unfold through different eyes.

The encouraging part is that, despite what the news shows us, there are hundreds of thousands of people in Australia who are not being sucked into the mainstream vortex and who are standing up to be counted.

These photos were taken in Brisbane yesterday during the peaceful protest march.

That’s a lot of people!

Mainstream media did not show these numbers. The footage they chose to share was vastly different.

There are millions of people, globally, watching Australia through disbelieving eyes as our governments use guerrilla marketing, police abuse, authoritarian tactics, threats and blackmail to get people to vaccinate.

If the vaccinations really worked and were safe, the govt wouldn’t need to do any of these things. EVERYBODY would be flocking to take something that would make them and their families healthy, strong, safe and protected.

Your body. Your choice.

The UK and USA are backing away from vaccination passports - because the huge numbers of protestors and people quitting their jobs in defiance is having a crippling affect.

Our media are not showing us any of that.

Our media sticks to the script and if by chance they decide to look at the other side of the coin, they’ll choose a complete ‘whack job’ to interview which discredits any vaccine hesitant story.

They censor the experts attempting to get through to us and leave the crazies, thereby rendering informed, educated decision making an impossibility.

As you can see, I’ve spent my Sunday in bed researching some more. Every day there is more information and I wish it was more easily accessible and available to a complacent world because it would awaken many minds.

Your body. Your choice.

Nite all.
