Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Lucky Ordering

I didn’t fall asleep until 1.30am and was woken by psychotic dog Colli shrieking her ‘good morning’ to Adoring Husband as he arrived home from work at 6am.

I did some stretches, some breathing exercises and some kynergetics to get some energy moving through my body - while watching a 90 minute seminar by Dr Peter McCullough about Covid and vaccinations.

So it was a fairly productive and educational start to the day.

I had surprisingly great sales in the shop with a steady flow of very happy women through the doors. It was a good energy day.

I’m feeling grateful that I ordered more clothes to arrive next week because I sold another 12 pieces today and since I put the jumpers on the outside rack this week, I’ve sold four!

Shuffling stock around seems to help move it.

I was a bit too busy to finish setting up the art room.

I had some stock arrive today that I’d ordered three months ago!! AND it was only two thirds of the order!  Not happy Jan … and I won’t order from them again.

The day passed quickly.

AH’s back is still troubling him so he’s not much use to anyone right now. He is still trying to do more than he should in the way of ‘working’ but not a lot of what he SHOULD be doing like gentle stretches or exercises or swimming to help strengthen his core or by putting nutritious healing foods into his body during the day.

It will be another slow healing process and no doubt I’ll be doing some of his cleaning duties in the next few days.

I made him some crispy skinned salmon for dinner with a big salad so hopefully that will help a little.

It’s now 8.30pm and I am extremely tired. I’ve got some sleep to catch up on and I may need to get up extra early to help AH.

There is also the art class to deal with tomorrow.

Nite all.

Down a Notch

Today was quite a bit slower than the first half of the week.

A few tyre kickers and a small number of paying customers but I did reach my happy minimum so no complaints from me.

Two boxes of new stock arrived. There were Himalayan salt lamps and coconut bowls …

After I processed that little lot, I set the training room up for the art class on Saturday because Adoring Husband is out of action with his bad back - the usual problem.

That took a bit of time because I didn’t want to injure myself with those big tables and I had to carry 6 of the heavy chairs into the change room and lay out the giant drop sheet on the floor. There is still more to do tomorrow but nothing heavy.

I paid yet another invoice - I seem to recall saying, just a few weeks ago, that I wouldn’t be ordering anything more before Christmas!

I guess it’s a good sign that stock is moving. I calculated today that I’ve sold 50 clothing items in 12 days - which means that I have 50 spare coat hangers for the new clothes that will probably arrive tomorrow or Monday.

There was time to wash my dishes and I even tried on some clothes! I didn’t take any home though.

When we locked up and left the shop, we took the long way home to look at some new houses that are being built. We drove along Riverview, Traviston and Louise to have a sticky.

I considered swimming for a while but by the time I unpacked the car, took the psychotic dog out to pee and did all the ‘things’, I just couldn’t be bothered changing into my swimmers so I made my anti-inflammitea and collapsed onto my chair in front of the telly.

I discovered that the Victorian Government won’t disclose the vaccination status of the 25 people who died of Covid in the last 24 hours. That would be because most of them were vaccinated - they ALWAYS tell us when the casualties are mostly UNvaccinated.

That’s annoying.

I found a new website where people can tell their vaccination stories …

And here is the link to read their stories and watch their videos from all over the world.

Telling Our Stories

I made a new sign to put on the front door of the shop today …

I wish I’d had the courage to put a similar sign on the door 4 years ago because the one thing that has always riled me is people with colds and flus coming in and spreading their germs - I also hated it in all my workplaces - so this serves a double purpose for me.

To end on a happy and positive note …

She’s so adorable 😍

Nite all.

Two Halves

It was a day of two halves.

Meditation saw two newbies in the mix, both of whom loved the class, commented about how much they got out of it and both plan on returning next week.

This week we discussed stepping away from the roles we play in life and stepping into “loving ourselves”.

Afterwards some of the girls remained in the room for a catch up, while The Gypsy and I sat in my ‘chat’ area and talked a mile a minute trying to share the last two weeks of our lives in the space of an hour.

She left just after 10am and for the next 45 minutes it was rush hour in the shop! Busy Busy Busy!

When it got quiet I put my ‘back in 5 minutes’ sign on the door and went for a walk to check the mail. Trouble was, I stopped to chat with a couple of people for more than 5 minutes each, so I was away from the shop for 20 minutes!

I paid an unexpected invoice, phoned the real estate agent re the house we wanted to look at, checked the bank account, made my lunch and no more customers came in until 1pm.

That’s when the second half of this day occurred and it was flat out for the next hour!

I had a great day of sales.

Adoring Husband is still having trouble with his back so we had to drive to Craignish so that I could pick up the FROG box of goodies.

I made another zucchini slice for dinner.

Now I’m feeling very weary.

Nite all.

Ready to Rumble

I’m lying here in my bed listening to the very loud thunder rolling in the distance. It’s constant with no breaks and I can see the storm on the BOM edging closer, although the worst of it seems to be heading just north. I think we’ll get some rain out of it.

After we opened the shop, Adoring Husband assembled my two new tray tables.

I didn’t get much time with my girls this morning - because of those pesky customers - which was disappointing.

The Happy Hippy came to do a good session of dusting.

I was busy enough in the shop that I didn’t make my lunch until almost 1pm.

Even though I was busy, it was mostly with small sales so at the end of the day, the total was nothing like Saturday but well over my happy minimum.

I copied receipts, displayed some stock, rearranged displays, cleaned the toilet, swept the carpet (yes you read that correctly), set up for meditation and watered the plants.

As soon as we arrived home we both decided to hit the pool.

AH’s back is pretty bad at the moment, so it was lucky the water was tepid enough for him to slide in and take advantage of the weightlessness.

I swam some laps and floated for a bit. We were in for about an hour and it was glorious.

Dinner was leftover baked chicken and vegetables.

Now that the storm has passed, it’s time to sleep because I have an early start tomorrow.

Nite all.

Non-threatening

Our plan was to leave home at 10am. Things to do. People to see. Places to go.

Knowing that there were storms forecast for this afternoon, I decided to take advantage of the perfect morning conditions and go for an early-ish dip in the pool.

The water was exactly the temperature I like. Not too cold as to take your breath away as you slowly step into the shallow end and not too warm where it feels like a tepid bath.

I swam 14 laps and floated for a few gentle minutes enjoying the morning sunshine before reluctantly climbing out to make myself presentable to the world for our Bay adventure.

There was a LOT of traffic!

By the time we reached Craignish, it was bumper to bumper and as we stopped at those traffic lights, we had eight cars in front of us. It was well outside peak traffic times which made it all the more noticeable.

My first stop was Tinkerbells where I put money on my lay-by …

While I was there, I saw a few pieces of jewellery that I really liked but showed remarkable self control and refrained!

We drove on to Aquavue for an early lunch - it’s our ‘go to’ because we never remember to book anywhere and we’ve never been turned away from there. I selected the grilled barramundi and Adoring Husband had garlic prawns. Both were delicious.

Our appointment with the financial advisor was not until 2pm which meant we still had time to kill so we went in search of something like this …

… for my sun bathing pleasure.

We found one at Big W and one at Kmart. We tried BCF and Fantastic Furniture but outdoor/leisure furniture retailers are few and far between in The Bay.

We also stopped at Spotlight for some more canvases.

As we parked for our appointment, a storm was looming. Big dark clouds and rolling thunder threatened us as we entered the building. Three quarters of an hour later we stepped outside into soft rain which was much nicer than we’d expected.

Grocery shopping was next on the agenda before we left the Bay.

On the way home we took a detour through Toogoom to check out a little house that’s for sale. It had an 8 foot high fence so we couldn’t see anything from the street but the other houses on the street were well established and nicely maintained.

There was soft rain all the way home and it’s been constant for most of the afternoon and evening.

It was almost 5pm when we arrived home and after we unpacked everything, I put my feet up for 20 minutes before preparing tortillas for dinner. Quick and easy.

It’s been a big day.

Sleep time for me.

Nite all.

Wondering

I’ve just been reviewing the analytics of my blog posts.

Over the period of a year, I average 126 views each day - which, in the scheme of things, is minuscule.

67 from USA and 19 from Australia. The rest vary and can be from Russia, France, India, Canada, UK and ‘other’ whatever that means.

This has always been a personal blog that was never meant to make money or become commercialised, but just to share ‘stuff’ with people who care.

Some care enough to read this every day, some care enough to check it out every so often and others got bored with my monologue and tuned out long ago.

That’s ok.

Even if nobody read it or viewed it, I would still be here every day.

If nobody read it, I would fill it with controversy, my deepest darkest feelings, my heartfelt emotions, my strong opinions - I know right?! You’re thinking “doesn’t she already do that?”

You have no idea how much I hold back!

I am very gentle on you!

If only you could see inside my brain 😳

Today is Sunday and I’ve been researching again.

Did you know … that the area of Uttar Pradesh in India, which has a population of 204 million has had amazing success in healing Covid before patients had to be hospitalised by issuing kits to everyone who tested positive.

The kits contained

  • Paracetamol (Tylenol)
  • Vit C
  • Multivitamins
  • Zinc
  • Vit D3
  • 10 x 12mg Ivermectin tablets
  • 10 x 100mg Doxycycline tablets (antibiotic)
  • Face masks
  • Sanitizer
  • Gloves
  • Alcohol wipes
  • A digital thermometer
  • A pulse oximeter (to measure oxygen)
The kit cost $2.65 each and the recovery rate is 98.7%.

Thanks to big pharma, CDC, WHO and Fauci there is a media blackout on these results.

This Dr John Campbell from the UK who has been reporting on all things Covid since near the very beginning has created a YouTube video explaining the results. I’m not sure how long the video will be allowed to remain on YouTube, so I apologise if, by the time you click on the link, it is no longer available. It’s been there for a month so we might be lucky!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eO9cjy3Rydc

It’s worth starting your own little first aid kit with some of these goodies ‘just in case’.

If you want to read more about this … More on Uttar Pradesh

It was nice to read today that the Australian Chancellor has threatened that if the number of Covid cases in all the combined ICUs reach 600 in Australia then ALL UNVACCINATED people will be put into lockdown and only allowed out for limited specific purposes.

Don’t even get me started haha.

The two states with the highest vaccination rates and the most strict lockdowns still have the highest rates of Covid. How does that work?

I joined a few Facebook groups for people who have survived Covid in Australia. Interesting reading and not nearly as dramatic as I expected.

I joined a few Facebook groups for people who have been vaccine injured in Australia. Interesting reading and as dramatic as I expected.

There is so much more, but that’s enough for today.

I dipped my toe in the pool and it felt like a warm bath. Obviously I wasn’t tempted enough to dip my whole body and I chose instead to stay in my pyjamas all day.

We’d planned on a baked dinner of chicken, potato, sweet potato, pumpkin, carrot, onion, capsicum, turnip, tomato, garlic, snow peas, broccoli, asparagus and home made gravy. How’s that for an abundance of vegetables?!

Plenty of leftovers for tomorrow.

We’ve got a big day in The Bay tomorrow.

So it’s sleep time for me.

Nite all.
