Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Inches More

Lots of rain during the night - 23mm to 9am today, and there was a further 22mm before our rain gauge decided to have a conniption, so we don’t know how much rain has fallen all day.

Needless to say, it was a good day to remain indoors in the dry comfort of our lounge room/kitchen/bedroom.

Adoring Husband had an appointment in the Bay so he was absent all morning. BGWLBH spent an hour or so ironing clothes.

I decided to make a big batch of chicken and vegetable soup which we all had for lunch.

I spent a lot of time watching golf in my bedroom after lunch.

I crumbed some raw prawn cutlets for my “fend for yourself” dinner but couldn’t eat them all so I shared them with AH.

There were enough breaks in the rain to give Harley his two plays for the day.

I finished my patchwork jeans …

Tomorrow, I plan on cleaning my bedroom and ensuite before I pack my small bag to take away on Tuesday. I miscalculated the amount of time since I’ve seen my family - it’s 5.5 years, not 6.5.

Let’s hope the weather is kind so that I can get there safely and as planned.

Time for sleep now.

Nite all.
