Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Squally

Despite lots of wild squalls, we’ve only had 13mm of rain since 9am.

Hervey Bay had 33mm.

Maryborough had 69mm.

Gympie had 81mm.

At 9am, I pedalled to the Lions Park to meet with the art girls for morning coffee. We had to move around under the shelter as each squall hit, because the wind was blowing the rain in a different direction each time. It was quite chilly too.

At 10.30am we parted company and I returned home because Adoring Husband was going to golf and I had told him I’d be back before he left for golf.

I decided to go for a quick ride back to the shops to get some avocado, cucumber and check the PO Box.

I had a parcel with some exercise aids - a skipping rope that counts your skips, a balance board and a yoga stretcher for arm muscles. They are to add to the resources that The Motivator and I already have for our exercise day every Wednesday.

By the time I returned home, AH had left for golf.

Within 15 minutes, I received a text from BGWLBH asking if I was ready.

She had gone to the hairdresser for a haircut which usually takes 30 minutes, so I figured she must have gone into town without me. But she had some extra stuff done and she was there for two hours.

We drove into the Bay.

Adoring Husband cancelled golf due to the muddy course and no golf carts were allowed, so was home 15 minutes after we left.

BGWLBH and I did lots of grocery shopping, fruit and veg, meat, seafood and bread. There was lots of rain, which made it tricky at times and we got caught in the middle of a funeral procession on the way home.

It was about 3pm when we arrived home and thank goodness there was leftover lasagne for dinner so after unpacking the groceries, I put that in the oven and we ate at 4.15pm.

I’ve been watching YouTube in bed and it’s already after 11pm so it’s time to sleep.

Nite all.
