Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

It’s Halloween

My first baby, had he lived, would have been 48 years old today.

He died at 17 weeks of age, approximately 36 hours after his vaccinations. They named his cause of death as SIDS.

This is the first time I haven’t received a message from Grannymus, remembering the day. She never forgot. She’s the only one. She passed last month. Her absence is especially noticeable for me today.

It’s been a quiet day.

I finished my washing.

I played with Harley.

I caught up on Celebrity Traitor UK.

I came to bed at 2pm.

I played with Harley at 4.15pm.

I cooked my “fend for yourself” dinner at 5pm.

I watched the movie “The Sixth Sense” because I knew that Chicklet was watching it for the first time with her Mum and Dad tonight in Melbourne for Halloween.

They only just arrived home from holidays this afternoon so trick or treating wasn’t really on the cards.

It’s now 9pm and I’m feeling a little weary.

Nite all.
