Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Too Fast!

I can’t believe how quickly today passed!

It started with morning coffee and even though there were only four of us, the conversation flowed and before we knew it, 90 minutes had passed and it was time to go our separate ways.

Next thing I know, a delivery of stock appeared, which I directed to the back room.

During the next hour, I sorted through all the tax paperwork for The Happy Abode to have it ready for The Motivator who was coming to visit. Her birthday was over a week ago and my gifts for her were still waiting behind my office chair!

I’m so slack but I could have sworn her birthday was only 3 days ago!

We spent over an hour together, which was so nice, but I still forgot to give her the metal sign stand and all her art - I think we subconsciously forget stuff so that we have a reason to connect in the future.

After she left, I unpacked the new stock and while I was pricing 72 owls, Adoring Husband strolled through the door and I realised it was 2.30pm! Far out.

I finished pricing and AH and I displayed them in little clusters all over the shop.

We set up the training room for meditation and dragged ourselves to the car at about 3.15pm.

There was plenty to do at home including tending to psychotic dog Ruby’s eye, bringing in some washing, hanging out some washing, photocopying some information for a customer, creating a new meditation sign to stick on the shop door on Wednesdays, designing a new FB post for this weekend’s art workshop, adding some names to the shop’s membership list and emailing the newsletter, checking my emails and starting a new book for processing gift certificates.

Dinner was mango chilli coconut chicken tenders with salad, followed by the lime slice from Su Jus Bar.

Now it’s almost 11pm and I have to be up at 6am for meditation, so I’m outta here!

Nite all.
