Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Stormy Weather

We’ve had some good rain tonight. I’m not sure how much. Maybe 15-20mm.

Apparently, there is more coming.

A few dogs have gone missing from their yard because of a fear of storms and I read a few stories about dogs quivering in fear inside their homes. Harley was not bothered.

Lots of lightning and thunder and rain. I didn’t notice any wind, but I may not have heard it over the sound of heavy rain on the tin roof.

BGWLBH and I spent half the day in The Bay doing tax stuff, drinking coffee, buying the winning lotto tickets, Office Works, Choice, butcher, Coles and more.

We returned home as the weather built up.

It was Adoring Husband’s turn to cook. I reheated last night’s leftovers while AH cooked lamb chops on the barbecue and roasted a big tray of vegetables in the oven for he and BGWLBH.

We played trivia before watching a couple of shows and heading to bed.

It was a pleasant day.

Now it’s time to sleep.

Nite all.
