Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

5 Sleeps

It’s a countdown, while the cost is a count up and rising!

What price for health?  Absolutely any price.

With five sleeps to go, we are STILL working on the details, but so far things are falling into place nicely and I believe they will continue that way.

Thanks to Best Cousin in the World, Marco Polo and BGWLBH, Adoring Husband has a lift down to the hospital on Sunday.

Thanks to his good mate BB, he has a lift home when it’s time to leave Brisbane.

We just have to confirm how many days of accommodation he requires between the day he is discharged from hospital and the day he is allowed to return home.

I know it will all work out in the end.

This morning was a great meditation class and qi gong session with yet more new faces. There were no catch ups today because we all had commitments afterwards.

I did a small grocery shop before AH picked me up.

After surgery discussions, we played trivia online until it was time to get ready for our trip into town.

I selected Morton & Morton to do our Wills and we had an appointment at 3pm.

I’ve never had a Will before and in 30 minutes he had all the information required and we just need to return on Thursday to sign everything.

Too easy!

We were home by 4pm.

For dinner, we had chicken fillets stuffed with garlic butter and wrapped in bacon - an item sold at our local butcher and I served them with potato wedges cooked in the same pan with the garlic butter and snow peas and beans.

We played some more trivia after dinner and watched Farmer Wants a Wife.

Now I’m very tired.

Nite all.
