Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

4 Sleeps

After many emails and phone calls, things are falling into place and we are less stressed than we were yesterday.

Of course that may change tomorrow, but right now, we are feeling ok.

I discovered today that Adoring Husband’s neurosurgeon is the brother of Mark Coyne, the NRL player who played for St George and for the Queensland State of Origin team.

He scored the winning try in the 1994 State of Origin …

Queensland miracle try

I wonder if Dr Coyne can turn AH into a QLD supporter during surgery???

BGWLBH and I drove into The Bay today. I needed lotto tickets for all the big prizes happening this week and some GF soy sauce, some fruit, a new toy for Harley (which he has already ‘almost’ destroyed), some art supplies and some Panadol.

Home at 3pm and after my quiz shows I heated up leftover spaghetti bolognese and the garlic chicken wrapped in bacon which I presented with a salad for everyone but me. I had half an orange.

We all played trivia for an hour.

Now I’m ready to sleep.

Nite all.
