Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Too Awake!

Even with absolute exhaustion, I could not, for the life of me, fall asleep last night.

That bloody coffee that Adoring Husband made for us at 2.30pm was the culprit! I KNOW that I shouldn’t have caffeine after midday!

My legs were restless and I could feel the muscles in my lower body struggling to relax. My brain was hyped up, not thinking about anything in particular, just alert to every movement and every sound.

It was 4.30am when I finally slumbered, but only for two hours, so I was very discombobulated all day today.

I played with Harley, cleared off my desk, which was the last job that had to be done in the art space and I put my “Happy Place” sign on the cupboard door.

I spent a lot of time sitting in the retro chairs, relaxing and thinking about possible art projects.

I did my Friday Falafel for Vegan Chickie.

I watched the movie “Uglies” which I liked.

Nothing else.

I was falling asleep on the couch at 7pm so I came to bed. Now it’s 10pm and I’m not feeling tired!

I am going to turn off the light, close my eyes and wait for the sweet drift of deep sleep.

Nite all.
