Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Contact Made

My brother finally responded. He is safe and well, although he has received more than 100mm of rain in 24 hours.

We have also received some good rain in the last 24 hours. 52mm in our gauge.

Today is Sunday and while this rainy day would have been perfect to spend in bed, I thought I should give some time to Adoring Husband.

I squeezed some play time in with Harley before the rain set in, made my breakfast and joined AH in the lounge room where we watched a couple of Hallmark Christmas movies and started to watch the latest series of Spicks and Specks.

I made a chicken drumstick and vegetable casserole for dinner.

It was too wet to play with Harley this afternoon.

After dinner, we played trivia before catching the Big Brother first eviction.

Still no wiser on the Hitchcock fly situation but there were no new recruits today or this evening thank goodness!

I’m now watching golf live from Dubai and hoping McIlroy can gain a shot on the final hole to join the lead.

There’s still some rain about so we’ll probably fall asleep to the sound of water on the roof.

Nite all.
