Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

To Market

I’ve enjoyed my weekend of sport viewing.

Happy that Australia defeated England in the second ashes test.

Not so happy with the golf results.

Rory McIlroy was disappointing and didn’t live up to his hype. He’s generally a brilliant player, but not this week.

On the final hole, it was between the Australian, Cam Smith and the Dane, Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen. The Dane took it out - his first victory on the DP World tour. Exciting for him, but disappointing for Australia.

On Saturday morning, Adoring Husband and I attended the Howard Country Markets, where I picked up a few small Christmas gifts.

The lady who promised to order me some capri pants in the small size, clearly had forgotten to do so, despite her excuses. That was annoying.

Afterwards, we drove to Torbanlea to try the new coffee shop. I’m not a coffee drinker anymore (I’ve had about 15 in the last 12 years) but I decided to try a lactose free latte on Saturday and I have to say, it was DELICIOUS!

We then drove out to where the train building grounds are. We saw nothing except the gateway in.

On the way out of Torbanlea, we noticed that the local hall had an arts and crafts market happening inside, so we stopped for a very successful visit.

More gifts AND I met a lady who runs pottery classes in her home at Howard! Not wheel pottery, but pinch potting, coil potting and slab potting, which is exactly what I want to learn. Her next classes are at the end of February, so that’s on my “to do” list for 2026!

I’m so glad that we stopped.

That’s pretty much my weekend in a nutshell.

I’m not sure what’s happening tomorrow, but I’m ready for sleep now.

Nite all.
