Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

This is Life

Not much happening in this neck of the woods.

Adoring Husband is replacing the timber path that goes from our alfresco area to the pool gate, so he is heavily into manual labour right now. The weather is still hot so it’s not conducive to this work. He needs to start early and finish before the heat of the day sets in.

I spent Thursday in the bay. I wasn’t well, so it was a struggle all day and I needed to find a seat 15 times (yes I counted) and we were home by 1.30pm so that’s a lot of sitting in a short period of time. Today was much better.

Mr Perfect has spent more time in hospital but seems to be on the improve now. However, I did text 8 hours ago and haven’t had a response so fingers crossed that he is still healing and generally well.

BGWLBH has been working at the craft store, which she enjoys very much.

Today, I cleaned the toilet, mopped the floor, experimented with home made sausage rolls which were so delicious that I ate all five of them - but I have enough ingredients to make more tomorrow for ‘fend for yourself’ night.

I caught up on some episodes of Virgin River and watched the football. I did NOT tip my beloved Broncos but they actually defeated Melbourne Storm. Even all the experts tipped against them! I’m happy that they won.

Tomorrow, I think I’d like to do some art.

Best get some sleep.

Nite all.
