Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Super Slow

My day was long and slow.

I passed my happy minimum with sales, steamed some garments, did some filing, paid a bill, cleared some emails, drank tea and watched the clock.

It’s unusual for me to watch the clock because the days are generally so busy that I’m surprised when I see Adoring Husband walk through door 30 minutes before closing time.

He had a meeting to attend at 2.30pm so we closed a couple of minutes early so that he could drive me home, empty all of my paraphernalia out of the car and feed psychotic dog Colli before heading out again.

It took me about 30 minutes to do all the ‘things’ before I could put my feet up and shut my brain down for the day. I enjoyed my hour of solitude before AH returned but by 4.30pm I was overwhelmed with lethargy and simply needed to lie down.

I woke up about 90 minutes later 😳

AH had cooked chicken nibbles for dinner and that delicious aroma was wafting through the house so it was a pleasant way to wake up.

Now it’s almost midnight and I think I will easily fall asleep once I sign off here.

I have an appointment with a rep tomorrow. I won’t be spending much money with him.

I’ve spent the evening watching interviews with scientists re Covid and vaccinations. One scientist who was fully vaxed and caught covid 3 months later. Surprise? Yeah Nah.

Anyway …

Nite all.
