Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Three in a Row

For the third day in a row, BGWLBH and I drove into The Bay.

Tuesday was movie day, Wednesday was her birthday and today, she worked at Crafty Bee and I shopped til I dropped.

I purchased some patchwork bib and brace overalls, a grey tiered top and a light zip up jacket.

The lady who owns the dress shop gifted me a bracelet and necklace for Mother’s Day.

I made her feel sorry for me because I don't receive gifts from my kids on Mother’s Day. 🤪

Honestly, we all know that Mother’s Day is a BS commercial con to guilt people into spending money that they don’t need to spend and my kids and I are in agreement to NOT do that.

The lady’s response today, is perfect proof that the conditioning is strong.

Nevertheless, I felt grateful for her generosity 💕

With Adoring Husband’s help, I cooked a lamb and rice dish for dinner and we had some of the leftover birthday cake for dessert.

We played trivia and were all in bed before 7.30pm!

I took this week as my Joker round in the footy tipping comp, which means I get double points this weekend. I tipped the first game correctly. Fingers crossed I do well for the rest of the weekend.

I did some washing this afternoon and some gardening, so I’ve been quite productive for the day.

Now I need to sleep because I have a ZOOM meeting at 9am tomorrow.

Nite all.
