Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Freezer Frenzy

I slept soundly for about 9 hours last night.

I woke up to a text from Adoring Husband telling me that he had coffee for me, which was a pleasant start to the day.

When he brought my coffee to the bedroom, he took Harley OUT of the bedroom, so I took my time getting organised for the day.

During that time, AH mowed the front lawn AND took Harley out to play AND had a shower.

Yes I was pretty slow.

At least I was a bit productive when I finally emerged - I couldn’t find the spaghetti bolognese sauce, so I decided to clean out and rearrange the upright freezer.

AH brought all the drawers into the kitchen and I emptied them, put all the chicken in one drawer, the ice creams in another, the soups and broths in another,  breads, rolls, chilli oils, taco mince and chicken nuggets in another and everything else in the fifth.

After that, I sorted through the Tupperware drawer.

I was hungry, so I made myself two chicken, mushroom, goats cheese and onion crepes. Quite delicious. AH got the leftovers.

I watched some golf with AH.

Lay down on my bed watching YouTube for a while.

BGWLBH arrived home from work (unusual for a Sunday) and was “starverated” so I cooked her dinner for a 4pm sit down.

AH had leftover birthday lasagne at 4.30pm.

I made apple strudels for dessert and tried the new Coyo custard (dairy free) - I like it very much! There is enough apple mixture for more strudels tomorrow night.

AH and I watched Big Brother together before heading to bed.

It’s already 10.30pm so I’m ready to sleep.

Nite all.
