Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Pretty Restful

I had no ironing for BGWLBH this morning.

I took Harley out to play.

I made tomato on toast for breakfast and brought it to bed so that I could work on my book.

After a while, I decided to watch "Adolescence".

So many people have been raving about it on social media and even the girls at lunch were talking about it, so I decided I needed to know what was so great about it.

I actually wasn't that impressed with it.

It's just another way to normalise murder, violence, sexism, misogyny, immorality ... only worse, because it involved children, none of whom seemed to take accountability for their role in the crime and others who thought it was funny.

I'm disturbed by how we are being conditioned to accept such atrocities.

The number of shows on TV that are filled with true stories of violence. Deadly siblings, killer husband and wife teams, mean girl murders, lost control killings, serial killers, narcissistic boyfriends, mothers who murder their children and babies etc.

One night, very late, I was trying to find something on TV to fall asleep to, and EVERY channel had a murder program on it. EVERY SINGLE CHANNEL.

I am going to make a list of them all.

Anyway ...

I cleared my emails, watched some YouTube, started designing a journal and then watched the football.

Dinner was duck breast with a pile of baked bite sized vegetables - potato, sweet potato, carrot, capsicum, onion, tomato, zucchini and chilli.

Oh and I did my photo for 52Frames, the theme of which is 'Levitation'.

That was the day. A little bit productive. Mentally tiring. Now it's time to sleep.

Nite all
