Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

A New Week

This week’s theme in 52Frames is ‘Details’. The extra challenge requires that I use a macro lens, which luckily, I have.

I’m thinking about getting up close and personal with an insect (we have a lot of big grasshoppers in the garden at the moment) or perhaps a passionfruit flower or even Harley’s nose!

I’ll think of something.

Another day in The Bay and it was lovely and quiet. School holidays have begun and there was hardly any traffic and very few kids out and about!

Tonight was the Australian Idol finale and my boy Marshall Hamburger won. As soon as I saw his audition, I said to Adoring Husband, “Marshall Hamburger will win this”.

No more MAFS after tonight - this week was the reunion and now it’s all over until next year.

AH will be so pleased.

I had a good weekend of tipping and am still equal top of the tipping ladder with Best Cousin in the World.

AH mowed the lawns yesterday and today.

Now I need to sleep. Meditation early tomorrow.

Nite all.
