Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Good Morning

I woke early but still struggled to be out the door by 9.15am to meet the girls for morning tea at the Lions Park.

Three of the four were already seated and chatting away by the time I arrived. The Happy Hippy was the straggler and arrived about ten minutes after me.

There was plenty to catch up on because it has been 3 weeks since our last lunch and lots happened over Christmas/New Year. We even had quite a bit of town gossip!

After two hours, we were all talked out and parted ways. Adoring Husband picked me up and after I relayed all the gossip to BGWLBH, I made myself a snack of guacamole with tuna mixed through it and wafer crackers.

Of course, the Ashes cricket was finishing up, so I had to watch that. Aussie Aussie Aussie!

At 1.30pm I came to my bedroom to do some more editing but it was difficult to focus and I didn’t get much done.

I made curried beef pastries for dinner with a salsa and tzatziki.

We played trivia for 45 mins before the T20 cricket started.  The Sydney Sixers defeated Melbourne Stars.

It’s almost 10pm so it’s time to sleep.

Nite all.
