Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

I have an air fryer. It has been sitting unopened in its box under the window in my family room for about 2 yrs.

I read a warning around that time, about how dangerous it can be, cooking with an air fryer. They have become very popular, and almost everyone I know has one and uses it regularly.

My intuition serves me well and I am loathe to ignore it - gut instinct tells me to leave the air fryer alone.

This is what I’ve found today in a google search …

Adoring Husband, I hope you have taken note.

BGWLBH worked at Crafty Bee today. I would normally take the opportunity to drive in with her and have a solo day in the Bay, but I chose to remain at home.

I swam 25 laps of the pool in between throwing the ball for Harley and counting his 83 laps running around the pool = the equivalent of 2 kms. He dived and swam a few times as well.

While I waited for my breakfast to cook, I rebounded for ten minutes.

Day 4 of the Ashes Test had started so I made myself comfortable on the couch to watch Australia take pretty good control of the match. Thankfully, this match (unlike the first four) will take up the entire 5 days and I’m looking forward to tomorrow.

There was more editing to do so I came into my room and set up the laptop to spend the afternoon working on that.

At 4pm I sent AH to the butcher for some chicken thighs and I prepared chicken pot pies for dinner.

We are having problems with our smoke alarm going off without reason. The batteries have been changed but it’s been happening infrequently for weeks at any time of the day or night. It happened again tonight and the only way to settle Harley was to come to bed early. He feels safest in his bed.

Now I’ll spend a couple more hours editing before sleeping. Morning tea with the art girls in the morning.

Nite all
