Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Riding Along

Today, the weather was much more conducive for triking, so after some Harley play, I made myself presentable and rode off into the late morning.

I was going to ride into all of the new estates, but decided that the day was too beautiful to avoid the river …

It was glorious and the water was a beautiful blue as the tide was reaching its height.

I sat on a bench seat on the edge of the beach for about 20 minutes and simply savoured the moment. I would like to that more often.

It was well after midday when I returned home with a coffee each for Adoring Husband and BGWLBH, and a bag of groceries.

I had a little rest in my bedroom for the afternoon and for dinner I cooked some crumbed chicken from the freezer and made an Asian salad, coleslaw, boiled potato with sour cream and reheated fried rice from last night.

That filled everybody’s belly.

Now I’m watching Sinner play tennis and I’m hoping to stay awake long enough to watch Djokovic at midnight!

Me, in 1964 as a flower girl at my uncle and aunty’s wedding …

Nite all.
