Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Pretty Relaxed

Friday was a rest and relaxation day for me.

My original plan was to do a third day in the Bay because both BGWLBH and I had some odd jobs to do around town, but I decided to stay at home and rest. There was nothing that I had to do urgently.

I didn’t even watch any tennis on Thursday night and was able to sleep soundly for about seven hours. I still didn’t get out of bed until 9.30am and played with Harley before taking a couple of fish and vegetable pasties out of the freezer and cooking them in the oven for Adoring Husband and I to have for brunch.

We both sat in front of the TV for the day and I can’t even remember what we watched. If I recall correctly, I had a short nap in my bed during the afternoon.

Friday, like Saturday, is basically ‘fend for yourself’ dinner, although I did reheat some vegetable soup for BGWLBH.

Friday night was a BIG tennis night and I stayed awake until after 4am watching the men’s semi-finals.

Sadly, Novak Djokovic lost to Sinner in a quick match. His 5hr 15min quarter final on Wednesday took too much out of him and at age 39, it takes a bit more time to recover. If he was up against anyone but Sinner, he may have had a chance, but boy, was Sinner on point and with power!

The final on Sunday night will be between the top two seeds Sinner (1) vs Sverev (2) and should be a good match!

Unfortunately, I woke to the sound of AH’s very loud voice at 7am. I’d only had 3 hours sleep but I couldn’t slip back into slumber, so I remained in bed for a couple of hours before jumping under the shower and then taking Harley out to play.

I was very aware of how tired and cranky I felt and I did try to not take it out on AH but I feel that I was unsuccessful in my endeavours for the most part.

I went for a trike ride, caught some sunshine, ran into one of the meditation girls and had a chat, rode along the river path, bought AH some hot chips for lunch and rode home quickly before they got cold.

We watched a movie called “The Kitchen” starring Melissa McCarthy on Netflix. It was a good movie released in 2019.

The footy has been on all afternoon and I am ZERO from 3 tips so far!

Ugh 😩

One of the ladies from meditation passed away yesterday. She has been battling cancer treatment for a couple of years and even though she looked and sounded well when I saw her 8 weeks ago and her treatment had ceased, it seems she was not thriving at all.

RIP Linda.

The Motivator has rushed off to Sydney because her Mum is doing poorly. Sending her strength and love to support her through this time.

Now I need to sleep.

Nite all.
