Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Finding Findings

I’m trying to create enough jewellery to sell at the local art and craft expo which is being held at the end of this month in the hall.

So I needed some extra findings and earrings to attach charms and beads.

BGWLBH and I drove into the bay - it was raining from Craignish onward - stopping at Arkarra Tea Gardens for breakfast again. I only had peppermint tea.

There are quite a few roadworks happening in the bay and detours due to closed roads, so we took a few back roads on the way IN and on the way OUT.

ADORING husband asked us to run an errand for him but the road to that particular business was blocked so we weren’t successful in fulfilling his request.

We found our way to Big W where BGWLBH purchased a man’s shirt because she was feeling cold in the rainy weather. We both shopped in Choice. Me for the jewellery findings and her for coat hangers. I got some big juicy marrow bones for Harley from the butcher. Our juices and a slice of carrot cake for AH from the Jam Jar Cafe.

My gut caused me fewer issues today than usual, but I still had to find somewhere to sit three times.

At home, I took Harley out to play while my chicken nuggets cooked in the oven. I gave him one of the marrow bones afterwards.

AH was in bed by 6am.

I came to bed at half time of the football. If you’re interested, Dolphins defeated Roosters 48-10. There were a lot of players missing from both teams due to State of Origin duties next Wednesday.

My back stopped me from sleeping soundly last night, but the problem seems to have resolved itself today so I’m looking forward to a decent sleep tonight.

That was my day … no trike ride, but perhaps tomorrow!

Nite all.
