Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Not Enough

With BGWLBH and Adoring Husband both out for the day, I was expecting a peaceful day full of productivity.

I seem to be able to get more done when I’m alone … but I am so rarely alone.

BGWLBH left for her nail appointment at 7am.

AH left for golf at 10.40am.

BGWLBH returned at 12.10pm.

She left for the beach at 12.40pm.

AH returned at 3.30pm.and WAS going back to the pub for the results of the golf outing, but then changed his mind.

BGWLBH returned from the beach at 4pm.

Not enough time and too many interruptions for me to focus for too long on anything really.

So Harley got two plays. I managed some gardening. I did three loads of washing. I shelled two crabs and ate the meat for lunch. I watched an episode of Great British Sewing Bee. I decided on fish and salad for dinner.

One piece of barramundi and one piece of snapper - both wrapped in baking paper with butter, lemon slices, crushed garlic, salt and white pepper.

I made a potato salad with bacon, egg and spring onion added, wombok salad and a garden salad.

AH and I watched Task Master tonight and then I watched my beloved Broncos get annihilated by the Bunnies 48-6. Who’da thunk?

The RBC Canadian Open golf tournament started tonight so I shall fall asleep watching that.

Depending on the weather, I plan on a long trike ride tomorrow. It’s been a week since I last rode and I think about it every day.

I may even start putting my camera in the basket!

Time to sleep now.

All play comes to a halt whenever a bird lands on the neighbour’s roof!

Nite all.
