Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Monthly Market + 1

It took a while for me to fall asleep last night, so when my alarm sounded at 5.30am, I struggled to find motivation to exit my bed.

We left the house at 7am, arrived at the markets at 7.20am and could not find a parking space! We ended up parking in the train station parking area!

We walked the markets separately and independently. I purchased some fresh vegetables, lemon butter and  some Berberine …

BGWLBH bought some 2nd hand books and filled her straw market bag with other stuff that I didn’t see.

On the way home, we made a stop at our local hall where the inaugural “pre-loved clothing markets” were being held. I bought an XL dress/top for $10. It’s way too big for me but the colours and material are gorgeous and I think I might be able to alter it - if not, it’ll be great over my swimmers in summer.

We were home and in the driveway at 8.50am.

Adoring Husband was in the pool area playing with Harley and had cancelled his coffee date because he decided there was much to do in and around the garden.

That was my cue to leave the house and hop on my trusty trike.

Yes, it was another perfect spring day.

I rode to the supermarket and selected some lamb cutlets to take home and crumb for my ‘fend for yourself’ dinner. I found some Whimmers Double Sarsaparilla and bought two bottles, then ordered a coffee - yes even though I said I was going to stop doing that!

I found a bench seat under a tree by the river and sat for 30 minutes drinking my coffee and enjoying the view. Plenty of people walked by, a few caravans packed up and left, there were a LOT of boaties on the water, some travelling way too fast between the moored yachts and not much else was happening at my end of the river.

At the other end of the path, near the new boat ramp, there was a lot of activity …

I was having such a lovely time I extended my ride by going the long way home.

The wind in my hair and the power of the electric motor making the ride so much easier. Buying Ruth was the best decision ever! Thank you Adoring Husband 🙏

At home, I unpacked the few groceries that I had and decided to do some art in my bedroom while watching the new episodes of Celebrity Traitor UK and The Traitors USA.

I also did some journaling.

I crumbed and cooked my cutlets for dinner and drank half a bottle of sars.

It’s only 6.45pm and I’m ready to sleep! I’ve used up all the mental and physical energy that I had on 4 hours of sleep!

Nite all.
