Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

End of Year

Wednesday was very quiet.

Adoring Husband made hamburgers for dinner and we watched the India vs Aussies one day women’s cricket match.

Today was an earlier than usual start for me because I was meeting my old art/meditation girls for our last coffee date for the year.

We all brought a plate, so there were Tim Tams, cheese and jatz, GF Christmas mince pies, vege sushi, GF profiteroles, GF lemon tart and GF cherry ripe slice.

I rode my trike and stopped at Foodworks for coffee on the way.

I provided the tablecloth and paper towels.

We all sat around chatting and laughing and judging and sharing rumours and gossiping for two hours.

It was a fun morning and we all decided to meet early in the new year for an art gathering.

The weather was very mild. It started out a bit windy with strong gusts, but after about half an hour, the wind eased and we were very comfortable. The cloud cover and soft breeze kept the temperature down, which is unusual for this time of year.

I was home just after 11am, just in time to say goodbye to AH as he went off for his golf day.

I had a very pleasant afternoon with my bestie - Harley - and for dinner I cooked cayenne meatballs on a bed of tzatziki served with Parmesan zucchini discs, sweet potato chips and a dressed garden salad. It was quite delicious and I even sat down to eat!

It’s now midnight and I need to sleep.

Nite all.
