Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Oily Goodness

I had some fun at the markets today and among my purchases were some Doterra Essential Oils. I got some Patchouli, Elevation and Citrus Bliss. Patchouli is good for gum and oral health and the woman suggested that I try Frankincense oil for my eye.

I have a problem with my left eye. Well, not the actual eyeball, because I've seen an Optometrist and an Ophthalmologist, both of whom cleared my eyes of any medical condition, however, the inside corner of my eye is weeping and now causing redness in the white of my eye. It's not sore, or itchy, or causing me any discomfort, but it 'looks' terrible and it 'looks' sore.

Using colloidal silver clears it up, but as soon as I stop using the silver, the condition recurs. So I will use a cotton bud to put a spot of frankincense around the area, and see if that helps. Frankincense is the 'go to' oil for most conditions, I'm told.

Patchouli is good for oral health, so I'll put a drop of it into the coconut oil when I'm oil pulling.

I bought some hand made cards, a print to be framed, an apron, some honey, 2 lacy coat hangers, an owl cushion and a timber basket. I like to support the local stall holders when I can, because I know what it's like to spend hours manning a stall and not have any sales for the day. I really want them to come back every week and make our markets worth visiting.

My footy tipping has improved slightly since last night. I'm now two from five.

I'm off to bed now. I'm re-reading one of my favourite books "Penmarric" by Susan Howatch and while Adoring Husband is away, I get to sit up in bed reading!

Have a lovely Sunday!

We're IN!!

I don't usually follow the Eurovision song contest, although I have friends down south who have big Eurovision parties, staying up all night to watch the finals, getting all dressed up and having fun criticising and judging the contestants, taking bets between themselves on who they choose as the winner.

I was surprised and pleased to learn that Dami Im was our entrant this year and even happier to hear that she is now in the finals!

She is a real talent.

On Wednesday, I posted my Nutritional Medicine text books for sale on Gum Tree. I've already sold three of them! Just two to go and I will have released a bit more clutter from my life.

Today, I've cooked up a big batch of honey and lemon chicken wings, so, along with some salad, smoothies and broth, they will be my dinner for the weekend while Adoring Husband is visiting his family on the Gold Coast.

I've selected 6 dvds from our collection and plan on being a couch potato in the coming days and between football matches, will watch some really sad movies while I have the opportunity to sob my heart out in private.

I've had a great night at the club and it's almost 11pm, so I'm off to bed. It's been another bad night for me in the footy tipping and I have no tips correct out of the two games played so far.

I can't stop yawning!

Autumn Coolness

This is what we've been waiting for. It is currently 16C outside, with the slightest chill in the air. Perfect sleeping weather. I still open the windows and have the fan going, but I pulled the covers over me last night and I always sleep more soundly with the covers on.

It's been a beautiful day.

I'm currently watching the football and strongly considering going to bed to watch the second half.

A 9pm bed time??? Unheard of!!

Ok, it's now ninety minutes later and I am still here! I told you a 9pm bed time was unheard of!

The team I picked lost tonight, so it's a bad start to the tipping weekend for me.

 NOW I'm off to bed.

Nite all.

Movie Going

Today I saw a movie with Vegan Chickie. I saw it in Hervey Bay and she saw it in Maroochydore. The movie was 'Mother's Day' starring Jennifer Anniston, Julia Roberts, Kate Hudson and many many more recognisable actors.

Although Vegan Chickie and I watch 'Love Actually' at the same time every year on Christmas Eve, this is the first time that we have gone to a cinema to watch a movie at the same time.

We both enjoyed the movie, but it's not on my top 20 list. It was funny in parts and sad in parts and punching the air "GO YOU!!!!" in parts. The actors were all great and each story had a satisfactory ending.

I do have one gripe for the day. I was the first to sit in the cinema, so I chose my favourite seat on the aisle right in the back row. A couple (probably about my age) came in about three minutes later, and though they had a choice of any two seats in the entire theatre, they chose the two seats directly in front of me. She was about six feet tall with high teased hair, so she partially blocked my view of the screen.

Tempted as I was, to loudly announce "Are you freaking kidding me?!?!", I fumed silently and moved to the next seat across.

At the same time that I was watching that movie, Adoring Husband chose to watch 'Eddie the Eagle' which he enjoyed very much.

That's it for my day. I missed my girls and my regular morning tea, but I'll be back next week.

Oh one other thing! Vegan Chickie introduced me to a new game app today called Letterfall. I've been playing it for 30 minutes and am totally addicted! Anything with words and I'm done!! Scrabble, Words with Friends, Letterfall, Scrambled, Word Pop and the list goes on.

We are now competing for the highest score ... I am in front, but she is in the middle of bedtime with Chicklet and is losing ground because of it *insert evil witch laugh here*

Coffee Fail

I've lost count of how many times we haven't been able to get coffee because the coffee machine at the shop has broken down. The Manager tells us that he has ordered parts for the machine and hopes to have it fixed soon.

Ugh!

It may be time to consider a coffee machine. We could rent one for less than it costs us for coffee every week!

It's almost midnight, so once again, this will be a short post, because I have an early start tomorrow.

I thought this would amuse you ...

... so send your men out to the garden. They won't need good aim out there! Your toilet will stay cleaner for longer and your garden will flourish! Win-Win!

 Have a fabulous Wednesday!!

Token Post

My plan for this evening, is to be in bed asleep before 10.30pm. This means that I am making a token post with little substance, however, I know that you will be amazed by this video. It only goes for about four minutes. Enjoy.

Perfect For Me

Thanks to Adoring Husband, I had my coffee brought to me in bed this morning, which was perfect because I wasn't really keen to get out of bed and go riding for it myself. You know, I just wanted a lazy Sunday morning where I could stay in bed for as long as I wanted and not feel guilty about it?

It was about 9.30am when I finally decided to get up.

We had to go into The Bay to pick up my new food processor that was being replaced under warranty.

We decided to attempt to find somewhere for lunch, but considering that today is Mother's Day, we didn't hold out much hope of finding a table anywhere. We hit the jackpot on our first attempt. One of our favourite spots, Aquavue, had free tables and I ordered my favourite prawn, mango and macadamia salad.

Adoring Husband ordered crumbed calamari salad, which was a bit naughty because it wasn't gluten free, but it looked delicious!

The waitress there, somebody we have never seen there before, talked to us as if we were regulars and was very chirpy and super friendly. When she saw me taking a photo of Adoring Husband with his meal in front of him, she rushed over and asked "Would you like me to take a photo of you together?" as she almost snatched the phone out of my hands!

You can see the bemused look on my face, and her super high energy almost led me to suspect drugs!

After lunch we drove to JB Hi-Fi and bought 3 dvds, with the intention of spending the afternoon watching them at home. We got 'Sisters', 'The Dressmaker' and 'Far From The Madding Crowd'. We only watched two of them today and AH was as pleasantly surprised with 'The Dressmaker' as I was when I first watched it.

I'm hoping to see 'Mother's Day' at the cinema this week.

So it's been a perfect day for me, doing all the things I enjoy ... staying in bed late, eating and watching movies. I heard from two of my kids for Mother's Day and I'm a bit worried about the one that didn't contact me, because she's never missed a mothers day before. I even got a text from her boyfriend. I will call her tomorrow to make sure she's ok.

AH bought some beautiful flowers for me during the week too ...

So I've enjoyed my day, as I hope all of you have :)

Nite all.
