Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

A Long Day

It was incredibly busy in the shop today ... mostly with tyre kickers, so sales were below average.

For the first time in 5 months, the Howard (a town 29 minutes from here) markets opened today and apparently there were huge crowds there. Quite a few of my tyre kickers explained that they had spent all of their money at the markets.

That’s okay because now they know where Roz’s Happy Place is for the next time they come to town and they will also tell other people where I am too!

Adoring Husband arrived before 1pm to help me close the shop so that we could drive into The Bay to run some errands. A couple of late customers delayed our plans but we eventually escaped.

I visited my favourite Office Works and bought some office stuff including a frame to put my business registration certificate in so that I can display it on the wall of the shop.

We purchased a little tray stand to place the bottle of hand sanitiser on inside the door of the shop. The bottle is currently in a position that makes it awkward for my customers to access it so this should remedy that.

I picked up my new shoes which I’d ordered and paid for last week (which reminds me, they are still in the car!)

AH attempted to fill a prescription at the pharmacy, but the pharmacist didn’t have any of his pills. It took 7 phone calls to find the last bottle available in Hervey Bay! So AH had to drive across town to get them while I grocery shopped in Coles.

It was about 4.10pm when we began driving home directly into the sun which was a bit uncomfortable.

We stopped at my shop to collect the cash tin and my laptop. We’d left them behind figuring they would be safer in the shop than in the car while we shopped.

There was messy smelly dog induced grossness that I will leave to your imagination, awaiting our arrival. It was well over an hour before we could sit down to an easy dinner that took me ten minutes to prepare.

We watched the footy and came to bed early - but now it’s late and I’m exhausted!

Being the middle of the school holidays, I was thinking about opening the shop for a while tomorrow, but right now, I feel that a day in bed might be my reward for a busy and productive week.

Break Records!

Today was a blinder!

Today, I broke my sales record for Roz’s Happy Place. The record was already pretty high, so it deserved a happy dance!

I stayed open til 3pm because there were plenty of people about and the last customer left at 2.50pm.

The first week of the school holidays has been fantastic and it’s not even finished yet.

Needless to say ... I am feeling weary.

I was feeling so lucky that I purchased a ticket in a raffle and printed out photos to put on the wall so that I could look at it every day to manifest a win ...

Can you imagine that beautiful piece of machinery with “Roz’s Happy Place”  logo on it? That would definitely inspire me to get my licence! It would be parked out the front to lure unsuspecting people to the shop haha. What a great promo.

It’s mine I tell you!!

The winning ticket will be drawn at the end of August so when I win it, I’ll take a pic of myself draped over it and share it here.

Of course, there is also the chance of me winning $80 million in Powerball next week, in which case, I will buy my own. The car is valued at over $400,000.

Meanwhile, I need to sleep so that I have lots of manifesting energy to become a winner, winner, chicken dinner!

TGTIF

That stands for “Thank God tomorrow is Friday”

You are probably reading this on Friday haha so tomorrow, for you, is Saturday.

It’s been another big week. Actually, a big three days with a coffee morning, early meditation, lots of stock deliveries, sign placements, creating a filing system, bookkeeping and not to mention the customers!

More stock arrived today ...

More should arrive tomorrow!

So I need sleep. Still happy, just tired 😑

Just Hit Me

It was such a good day!

Meditation was fabulous.

Time spent with The Gypsy was quality, enlightening, cathartic and mindful. I love her.

One of my deliveries arrived and the products were pre-priced so I didn’t need to spend time on that mundane task. I also simply added them to an existing display. Easy peasy.

Sales were good and the customers were lovely.

Adoring Husband was the perfect assistant.

I was able to bank some cash ... and pay a bill.

I left the shop at closing time feeling very chilled and relaxed 😎

I arrived home and immediately changed into my ‘slobbadog’ clothes so that I could bathe psychotic dog Ruby and tend to her eye.

Then I relaxed on the couch with a delicious GF raspberry and white chocolate muffin that came in the FROG box today.

I made some rissoles and salad for dinner.

5.30am was when my eyes opened this morning and it’s now 8pm and I’m longing to put my head on the pillow because the weariness just hit me.

More stock arriving tomorrow and maybe I’ll put some more signage up.

For now, I’m done.

Nite all.

An Hour Long Frenzy

This should make you ALWAYS question everything you see and hear on any screen!

I had a very pleasant but shortened morning tea with The Brains Trust and The Welsh Wonder.

It was interrupted by an influx of holiday makers that filled one hour of the morning with a frenzy of sales. The remainder of the day was a shopper here and there, but in total the sales were good and it was definitely my happy place!

None of my deliveries turned up which was a blessing in disguise because I became very productive and created folders for each of my suppliers and filed all of the invoices, photocopied all of my receipts and filed them, cleared the mess from the weekend workshop and set up the training room for meditation.

Now I’m expecting two deliveries tomorrow so it should be an intense day.

It’s almost 11pm and I have an early start tomorrow so sleep time for me.

Nite all.

Not a day off.

Bob Dylan’s latest. I’ve never been a Dylan fan, but this says a lot - as it should because it’s 17 minutes long! It went straight to number one on the charts in the US and it’s his first ever number one hit!

Today, Adoring Husband and I drove to the shop at 10am.

I checked the post office and there was a parcel from Cenzoni containing wallets and phone cases so I priced and displayed them.

While we waited for the first possible delivery, we put the new signage on the A-frame sign and cut out one of the decal signs for the windows.

The delivery arrived and it was another box of vegan leather bags, wallets and cross body bogs. I priced and displayed them. Some rearranging needed to be done to fit them all in.

We put the cut out decal on the door and it looks great.

The second delivery hadn’t arrived by 1pm so we decided to call it a day and head home.

I had a visit from The Fairy Queen who appeared at the door and I surprised her by opening it. That was a pleasant surprise and a nice break in an otherwise busy three hours.

It was nice to come home and sit down.

I did some book work, registered as a stockist with my favourite deodorant people, checked my emails and cooked duck breast with leftover roast veggies for dinner.

It’s now well after midnight and I do not feel the slightest bit tired!

I’ve smothered myself with sleepy essential oil to no effect so I might need some meditation to take me over the edge to some deep sleep.

Looking forward to morning tea with the girls tomorrow so I’d best sign off.

Nite all.

Energy Plus

My brain has been fed an overload of vegetables tonight.

Potato, sweet potato, pumpkin, turnip, carrot, onion, capsicum, tomato, garlic, broccoli, green beans, zucchini and chilli.

Plenty of healthful goodness very much needed by both of us.

Disappointing news today that a Hervey Bay business has become another economic victim of COVID 19 and made the decision to close.

Su Jus Bar Lifestyle Cafe in Pialba, which was one of my faves, couldn’t withstand the financial blows that the pandemic social distancing rules threw at them and with a heavy heart, made the decision today.

Bugger.

I spent the entire day in bed. The first half of the day watching art videos on YouTube and working out what to do in the next workshop and then the second half of the day studying and adding more to my e-course.

I only got out of bed to cook dinner and watch Big Brother!

Today would have been my Mum’s 80th birthday. I wonder how she would have celebrated had she reached this milestone? I reckon she would have been a mean, cranky little octogenarian and would’ve booted COVID 19 fair in the butt!

I’m expecting some deliveries at the shop tomorrow so I’ll have to go in on my day off and wait. Deliveries come at two different times of the day. Mid morning and then just after midday so I might take my studies with me and be somewhat productive while I’m there.

The alternative is to open the shop and take advantage of the school holiday crowd.

I’ll see how I feel tomorrow.

Nite all.
