Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Tennis Tenacity

The argument for voting NO (click here to read more)

I think I have three art pieces waiting to be completed now.

The third one is something that I started today. It’s the first entry into an art journal, which is something I hope to continue regularly… not daily and probably not weekly but definitely more than once!

I was excited to find the Djokovic vs Djere US Open match on 9GEM today. I missed the first set but got to watch the rest. Djokovic lost the first two sets and I thought he was a goner, but once again, he proved what a champion he is and he won in 5 sets.

Straight after that were three footy games so it’s been a great Saturday afternoon and evening!

I crumbed some chicken for dinner and served it with coleslaw and garden salad.

Now it’s approaching midnight so I’m off to bed.

Hibernating Nicely

There is no climate change (click on the link to read more)

Another uneventful day for me.

Adoring Husband had errands to run in town so I gave him a list and he ran some for me too.

I needed a new charging cord for my devices and bones and treats for Harley which meant driving to three different locations. He’s a good egg.

I had plenty of play time with Harley, did a little art, cleared the creepy crawly (yet again) and picked out the pebbles from the pool floor which required me getting wet from the waist down.

The water wasn’t too bad and I think it’ll be an early start to my swimming season this year! The other two are pussies and the water needs to be luke warm before they get in.

I’m enjoying the football tonight! The Roosters vs Rabbitohs game is a corker! I tipped the Roosters and they are winning by 8 points with ten minutes remaining in the game.

Anything can happen yet.

I’m signing off to go journal and read some cards.

One More Time

I’m voting “No”

Harley likes to sleep on me or beside me …

BGWLBH drove into The Bay and was gone for almost 5 hours. She came home sicker than ever.

Adoring Husband slept in his chair for many hours today.

I played with Harley a lot!

I tidied up and culled some of the contents of two vases of flowers.

I tidied some of the art space.

I took washing off the line and found homes for everything.

I cooked breakfast and for dinner I did crispy skinned chicken with sweet potato/potato mash, green beans and snow peas.

I cleared leaves out of the creepy crawly and out of the pool while Harley kept dropping the ball into the water and then diving in for it, drenching me in the process.

Nothing exciting happening here … I’m doing my best to avoid the outside world.

Time for me to sleep.

Decision Time

CDC, increased infection risk in vaccinated.

The Voice …

Let me try and explain the Voice in a different way…

Albo puts a blindfold on you and takes you on a mystery flight where you have no idea where you are going but he is taking you to crocodile infested waters.

He says you have to swim across the river to the other side.

You have two choices.

1. You have no idea what the deal is, where you are, zero information, but you trust him and do what he wants

OR

2. You say “based on the information provided, I am simply saying NO.”

It's a bit of a circulating cliche but "if you do not understand you are best to say NO. If you DO understand the detail you will say NO anyway.”

You know what to do.

I made the most delicious lemon/lime cheesecake today. BGWLBH can’t have any because even though it’s made with lactose free cheese and cream, she says she can’t eat dairy. So Adoring Husband, who says it’s the best dessert I’ve ever made, now gets to have her share as well!

I cooked up Harley’s food for the week and made myself some mushroom and leek soup which is really yum!

AH drove to Craignish to pick up the FROG box this morning.

We’ve had some good rain from storms over the last two nights.

That’s about the long and the short of it for today. Time to sleep.

Arachnophobic

Sight of the week was of six women from the meditation class combing through The Gypsy’s car in search of a large huntsman spider that had appeared briefly and suddenly disappeared.

The Gypsy is arachnophobic, as are half of the women who were searching.

The car was in the carpark of the hall and we were all emptying it of its contents hoping to stumble upon the spider. I, not being phobic, ran my hands under the seats and lifted the mats. We went through that vehicle with a fine toothed comb and found nothing.

Thankfully, on the trip home, she hadn’t yet reached the highway when said spider decided to make its presence felt again, but she was armed with a spray can so Mr Spider is no more.

Meditation was perfect, as always.

Hoop chi was enjoyable but I overstretched at one point and my back is now suffering. Must remember, bend only at the waist!

Luckily for me, it’s Taco Tuesday so dinner didn’t take too much time or effort.

Now I’m feeling very weary.

Nothing Happening

Another uneventful day in this household.

Even though BGWLBH has had a bad sinus infection for a week now, she had no choice but to drive into town to have her phone checked because it wasn’t charging. Turns out it was just the cord that was faulty (3rd replacement in 15 months!) so it was an easy inexpensive fix.

I’m currently sitting up in bed watching “Armageddon”.

I didn’t put any effort into dinner. Adoring Husband cooked lamb steaks and served them with last night’s leftover salads. I had cauliflower soup from our freezer.

Harley and I had a nice morning by the pool …

Tomorrow is meditation and hoop chi so it’s time to sleep for me.
