Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Morning Meditation

It was difficult to get out of bed early this morning.

I set the alarm for 6.30am but hit ‘snooze’ a number of times until 7.10am when I knew I’d be pushing it to be ready in time to ride my trike to the hall and hopefully arrive there before 8am.

I still had time to shower, get dressed (trying 3 different outfits before deciding on one!), put on make up, select some jewellery, do my hair, make my bed, fill my water bottle, give Harley his ‘goodbye treat’ and kiss Adoring Husband goodbye and arrived at the hall with 5 minutes to spare!

It was a great class, as usual, though it was small with quite a few away on holidays.

Afterwards, The Gypsy and I sat outside under the shelter chatting for three hours. We never run out of things to talk about.

I did a small grocery shop before checking my phone to discover that BGWLBH had messaged me much earlier inviting me into town with her and offering to pick me up from the hall. She sent the message mid meditation so I didn’t even hear the message come through because my phone was on ‘silent’.

Ah well, too bad, so sad.

Funny thing was that when I arrived home at 1pm, she had already returned home and there was her car in the driveway!

I obviously didn’t miss much.

I was pretty tired by then so I parked myself on the couch and watched a replay of the last 2 episodes of Australian Idol until it was play time for Harley.

Adoring Husband cooked some snags on the barbecue and I made a potato salad. I’d bought a coleslaw in the morning so that was our dinner.

We played trivia for an hour before MAFS.

Now I’m in bed watching Scrublands but I’m buggered.

Nite all.
