Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Time Thief

My big plan for the day, was to visit The Gypsy, who is house and pet sitting just around the corner.

So after playing with Harley, I hopped on my trike and rode to the house, arriving at 10.20am.

We talked and talked and talked and talked and talked and talked.

At what we thought was 1.30pm, I received a text from BGWLBH about dinner, but I looked closer and realised that it was 3.20pm!!!

Five hours had passed.

Sitting on the top verandah overlooking the river. Lots of tall trees in the foreground. Blue skies. Birds singing. A cooling breeze.

It was lovely.

I was home by 3.50pm and because it was ‘spaghetti Sunday’, I began preparing dinner. It was ready by 4.30pm so we were all sated very early in the evening.

There were three games of football to watch and Farmer Wants a Wife. Thank goodness, my tipping improved with three out of three correct for the day.

It’s time for me to sleep now. I am tired.

Nite all.
