Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Time’s Really Up

Interview with Attorney Todd Callender

Tomorrow morning (Sunday) BGWLBH will be on the road and heading home.

I can’t even look at her!

The tears are set to a hair trigger and I am very emotionally unstable.

I just need to remember … it’s only two months.

Please, Universe, don’t let anything happen in the next two months to stop her from returning 🙏😳

I had intended to join BGWLBH and AH on their walk this morning but I was late waking up - a good thing because neither of them walked.

AH had an upset tummy last night and was up and down all night, which in turn disturbed BGWLBH so her sleep was also broken and she was too tired to rise at her usual hour.

At 10.30am I climbed out of bed, made some breakfast of tea and toast and sat by myself under the Bali hut. After I’d finished, I checked the pool water and it was very welcoming so I took my top off and slid into the water wearing my short leggings and bra.

It was perfectly delightful and I swam some laps (about 12), floated for a while, soaked up some sunshine and then slopped my wet self through the house to dry off and get changed.

I made a light lunch for everyone and we played trivia all afternoon. Me - 1 BGWLBH - 1 AH - 0

I roasted a chook with potato, sweet potato, pumpkin, carrot, broccoli and home made gravy for dinner. It was a purposeful dinner so that BGWLBH could take some leftover chicken with her on her travels.

She has a nice healthy bag of goodness to take with her.

Between us, we cleaned up the kitchen and now she is in her room - we will probably just ignore and avoid each other until she departs. It’s too hard.

You’ll be happy to know that Adoring Husband is feeling better and ate well today.

I’ll be in bed straight after the footy tonight.

Nite all.

Oh … here are screen shots of pages from the TGA website showing adverse events from the new Novavax vaccination. I put them at the end so that you can ignore them if you want.

Time’s Running Out

By the time you read this, there will be one more sleep until BGWLBH leaves us.

😭

Hopefully she will return in less than two months.

There is so much for both of us to do inside those two months! We might need a holiday when we’re done.

This morning I got up a bit earlier than usual and BGWLBH and I sat outside Foodworks drinking tea and coffee for about an hour. We did some grocery shopping before coming home.

This was our lunch …

… and that was followed by an afternoon of trivia on the smart TV.

Adoring Husband cooked the usual chicken wings for dinner and we watched two games of footy while BGWLBH escaped to her room.

She is NOT a football fan.

That was our day.

Studious

BGWLBH and I spent the majority of the day reading articles and watching videos of interviews with experts regarding the current global situation (both the war and Covid/vaccines).

Looking back at what was predicted and has since come to fruition, confirming that we are certainly not conspiracy theorists … HOWEVER … since the mainstream media don’t make any announcements or broadcast any of these results, I guess we can still be considered CTs by some.

"War is a place where young people who don't know each other, and don't hate each other, kill each other, by the decision of old people who know each other, and hate each other, but don't kill each other...”

I got out of bed at 11am, made myself presentable, prepared some lunch for BGWLBH, then rode my trike to the shop where I searched for my lease to no avail.

So I visited the real estate agent, where I chatted for quite some time with the owner about all sorts of things including the fact that her long time hairdresser has had to sell his salon and stop working due to his very serious adverse reaction to the vaccine.

The stories continue to come in and I’m keeping a record.

I still wasn’t able to hand in my notice because the property manager wasn’t there and I have to do it in writing so I took her card and will send it through tomorrow.

When I returned home, BGWLBH had sent me a video to watch which was 90 minutes long, so I watched that and came to the conclusion that we unvaccinated are screwed. Everybody is screwed really, but we will suffer the most just for our convictions.

We can ALL look forward to another two years of nonsense before our world reaches its lowest point and our future is not looking bright.

It’s sad that Australia is no longer the lucky country because we have proven that we are the most compliant and the easiest to control and manipulate so we will now be used as a Guinea pig for all the nastiness on the elite’s playlist.

No other country in the world - even the ones with the most strict mandates - have bowed so easily.

To take our minds away from such heaviness, we played some YouTube trivia before driving down to the beach. I walked out to the low tide water’s edge where I stood almost knee deep in the warm salty waves, took the superhero pose and shouted to the universe exactly how I feel about world matters.

At home I made a creamy leek and mushroom sauce for the lamb shanks to swim in, reheated the mash and steamed some broccoli.

Adoring Husband went to SES training and BGWLBH cleaned the kitchen so that I could sit down and enjoy the football. Very happy to have tipped Cronulla Sharks for the win.

It’s after 10.30pm so I think it’s time for bed.

Priorities

I found this yesterday and it resonated …

Don’t prioritise your looks my friend, as they won’t last the journey.
Your sense of humour though, will only get better with age.
Your intuition will grow and expand like a majestic cloak of wisdom.
Your ability to choose your battles, will be fine-tuned to perfection.
Your capacity for stillness, for living in the moment, will blossom.
Your desire to live each and every moment will transcend all other wants.
Your instinct for knowing what (and who) is worth your time, will grow and flourish like ivy on a castle wall.
Don’t prioritise your looks my friend,
they will change forevermore, that pursuit is one of much sadness and disappointment.
Prioritise the uniqueness that make you you, and the invisible magnet that draws in other like-minded souls to dance in your orbit.
These are the things which will only get better.
Donna Ashworth

BGWLBH and I decided to join my art girls at the Lions Park for coffee this morning - we took water instead of tea or coffee and only two of the girls turned up, but they were highly entertaining and we enjoyed almost 90 minutes in their company.

During the morning, one of the girls told us about YouTube trivia so as soon as we arrived home, we set up YouTube on the smart TV and proceeded to spend all afternoon playing trivia! Movie trivia, Music trivia, General Knowledge trivia, Countries, The Human Body, Animals and so much more.

If we’re ever allowed back in the club for trivia nights, we’ll kill it!!!

Dinner was another “fend for yourself” occasion because the slow cooker hadn’t finished cooking our lamb shanks in time. Luckily there were plenty of leftovers for everybody to fill up on.

MAFS took our attention for a while and we all headed to bed.

Tomorrow I’m definitely handing in my notice for the shop so it’s time to make a ‘to do’ list and move forward to my new life.

I’m ready.

Nite all.

Happy 42nd birthday to Vegan Chickie today! ❤️

Sneaky Day

BGWLBH has a thing about Tuesdays.

She says it may seem like it’s a nothing day, but when you least expect it it, stuff sneaks up on you and crap things can happen. Never trust a Tuesday!

I thought she was crazy … until today.

Her prescription medication was due to run out and she had to contact her Dr to fax through the script to our local chemist.

We put all of that in motion last Thursday.

Her Dr works minimal days and minimal hours, so it was tricky to get all of the timing right to receive the script in time and if it didn’t arrive today, she would’ve had to leave for home tomorrow (Wednesday).

So her Dr confirmed that the script was emailed and she drove to the pharmacy first thing this morning to finish the transaction.

The pharmacy said they didn’t receive it.

BGWLBH phoned her doctor, verified on speaker phone that the email address was correct and the doctor resent it.

Nothing.

Staff were quite rude and very short with BGWLBH and told her they would phone her if and when the email arrived.

Now, I don’t know about you, but I’ve never had to wait more than a minute for an email to land.

By the time I got out of bed, two hours had passed since her visit to the pharmacy.

I put on my ‘knight in shining armour’ costume and we hopped in the car carrying my iPad preparing for a battle.

They still hadn’t received the script.

I asked for their email address and sent them a test email - just to determine whether the problem was at this end or the Dr’s end.

They received my email instantly.

We phoned the Dr again, verified the correct email address … again … and she sent the email  … again …

Nothing.

So we asked the doctor to send the email to MY email address.

I received it instantly.

I took my iPad into the chemist and asked if they would accept the email from my email address.

They agreed to this option so I sent it through and finally, BGWLBH got her script filled!

What a drama!

I have to say that the staff seemed quite annoyed at US because the email didn’t come through from the Dr. They were also annoyed at our frustration that the email didn’t come through. There was no explanation that made sense. MY email went through instantly and the Dr’s email came to me instantly so why???

Anyway … we finally achieved our goal and BGWLBH gets to stay for an extra five days.

So that’s what our sneaky Tuesday did to us today!

We played Sequence, Trivial Pursuit and Yahtzee.

I cooked shepherds pie for dinner.

We scrolled through Prime Video and put some movies on my list for future viewing and then watched MAFS.

Now it’s time for bed and sleep.

Still Nothing

BGWLBH and Adoring Husband drove into The Bay this morning.

In separate cars at different times to run their own errands.

So I had the house to myself for just a little while. I did nothing exciting. Showered, washed my hair and made myself publicly presentable.

My plan was to trike to the shop, water the plants, collect my travel case full of art supplies, check the mail, grocery shop and trike home.

Considering how hot it was at 11am, it was most fortuitous that BGWLBH arrived home and offered to drive me to complete those chores.

We made our own lunches, played a few games of Sequence, watched a Netflix movie and then we toiled in the kitchen preparing a zucchini slice and a tuna rice tart for dinner.

I watched the recording of Sunday night’s MAFS (thank you AH for thinking of me) and then watched tonight’s episode.

Now the day is over and it’s time to sleep again.

How time flies when you’re having fun!

Sundayyyyyy

While most people believe that Pfizer Covid vaccine is fully approved, if you go to Australian Government Dept of Health website, you will see that it is only ‘provisionally’ approved.

This means that it’s still in the trial period.

All of the Covid vaccines are ‘provisionally’ approved and it will be 2023 before any of them can be fully approved.

Anyway … my Sunday has been lazy and uneventful.

At 10.30am I made pancakes with bacon, caramelised banana, ice cream and pure maple syrup for my breakfast.

I played Sequence with BGWLBH while Adoring Husband replaced the handle on the toilet door.

We watched the football and I am still on top of the tipping ladder.

My belly then decided to react poorly to my breakfast and I came to bed at 5pm where I stayed. Sadly, the team had to fend for themselves at dinner time but I have no idea 🤷 how they fared.

I slept for over an hour but I think I’m ready for more sleep. Perhaps I’ll wake up early enough in the morning for a walk?
