Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Whale Pics

17 year-old Juliane Koepcke was sucked out of an airplane in 1971 after it was struck by a bolt of lightning. She fell 2 miles to the ground, strapped to her seat and survived after she endured 10 days in the Amazon Jungle.

After ten days, she found a boat moored near a shelter, and found the boat's fuel tank still partly full. Koepcke poured the gasoline on her wounds, an action which succeeded in removing the maggots from her arm. Out of 93 passengers and crew, Juliane was the only survivor of the LANSA flight 508 crash that took place December 24th, 1971.

I spent the morning cooking breakfast, playing with Harley and editing the whale photos. …

These are the best of the bunch. My photography skills are obviously a bit rusty, but I’ll get more practise this month.

I spent the afternoon watching the footy and feeling bitterly disappointed that Cronulla Sharks decided to come good this week! They’ve ruined my perfect round because I tipped Souths to beat them.

Spewing!! 🤬

Now it’s time for me to sleep.

Nite all.

Unexpected That Was

I looked at the whale photos today and some of them are pretty bloody good … even if I do say so myself!

I will edit them tomorrow and hopefully post some here tomorrow night.

BGWLBH and I drove into The Bay today to purchase a mop bucket for Adoring Husband. His work bucket broke and currently he is having problems with his shoulder and sometimes the pain is so bad, he can’t drive because turning the steering wheel hurts.

So we did a run to Bunnings and along with the bucket, we bought some potting mix.

We drove over to the Boat Club to book and pay for our next whale watching trip on 21st August. We became members last year so that we could get cheaper rates for whale watching. We lunched while we were there.

Officeworks got a visit from us, as well as the newsagent in Scarness, the bakery and Urangan Fisheries.

We arrived home quite late so I played with and fed Harley, shelled my sand crabs and king prawns, made the marinade for our chicken and then sat.

It’s now way after midnight so …

Nite all.

Deep Sleep

I slept deeply and soundly last night for a solid 8 hours.

Today has been uneventful.

Just the usual.

No art. Nothing to calm or soothe the soul.

Footy tipping is off to a good start. I’ve taken this week as my joker round which means double points for each win.

I still haven’t looked at the whale pics that I took. Might do that tomorrow.

That’s it from me.

Nite all.

Done In

After another big day in the bay buying breakfast, tape, paint, books, baskets, pillows, lotto, lemons, organic castor oil, pens, Harley toys, juices, eggs and lotto, then picking up the FROG box, I am just about done in.

The weather was appalling with black clouds, heavy rain and cold winds.

We arrived home late, almost 4pm, so there was only time to unpack our goodies and have a quick play with Harley before preparing dinner. I crumbed the leftover chicken and BGWLBH prepared the salad.

It’s only 9.30pm and I’m ready for sleep.

Nite all.
