Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

I’m Back

Ben Fordham, one of the few mainstream journalists looking for the truth … Ben Fordham

Tuesday was a fabulous full meditation class, followed by 2.5 hours catching up with The Gypsy down at the Lions Park. The weather was mild and for a change, no gale force winds, just a couple of short, very light rain showers.

I was home in time for lunch, but first, Adoring Husband drove me to Raintree Acres to pick up 2 dozen eggs from our resident author.

First Choice by Judith Dick (warning - contains some erotica)

I still haven’t read it. I hope to spend Saturday in bed with this good book.

BGWLBH was in The Bay and AH enjoyed the morning with Harley.

For dinner, AH cooked meat on the barbecue and I made roast pumpkin and spinach salad, leftover frittata and leftover coleslaw. I had chicken broth with 2 poached wings.

Today was a very quiet day at home.

AH went to work and mowed lawns.

The only productive thing I did all day was play with Harley and make tacos for dinner.

Tomorrow will be a day in the bay, so it’s time to sleep.

Nite all.

Storm Season

Tonight (Sunday), we are enjoying a break from storms.

Apparently they will return tomorrow.

Luckily, lots of noise, wind and rain, but no damage.

There were Saturday night storms and I was awake until 2.30am watching the Ashes football which was televised from Liverpool in England. I needed the volume up to drown out the sound of thunder and rain.

BGWLBH and I drove to the Howard markets early on Saturday morning.

I made a few purchases, but we left early because after the storms, the weather was too hot and steamy and we were feeling very uncomfortable.

We dropped our goodies off at home, then hopped back in the car and drove into The Bay for a while.

It was “fend for yourself” night for dinner so as soon as we arrived home from the bay, I crumbed my prawns and cooked them. I hadn’t eaten for 23 hours so I was well hungry!

Tonight, I baked a chicken and vegetables for dinner, we played trivia and now it’s after 11pm and I need sleep!

Nite all.
