Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Clashing Dates

When God created Adam and Eve, He said to them:

I have two gifts to give you - one is to pee standing up and...

Adam, very anxious, interrupted him screaming:

M E..! M E..! I want it, please Lord... please... please... please...

This would make life a lot easier!

Eve agreed and said those things didn’t matter to her.

So God gave Adam the gift.

Adam was amazed, screaming for joy, running through the Garden of Eden, peeing on every tree.

He ran along the beach making drawings with his pee in the sand.

He lit a fire and played fireman..

God and Eve stared at the mad man with happiness until Eve asked God:

and... what is the other present?

And God answered:

A Brain Eve ... The brain is yours...

And that my friends, is how it all started. 😂🥳 l

I was very happy with the results of both men’s semi finals in the US Open tennis.

Djokovic defeated Ben Shelton. He didn’t have it all his own way and with a bit of experience and maturity, Shelton will be a force to be reckoned with.

Medvedev defeated Alcaraz in four sets! It was lovely to see, especially because Alcaraz was getting full on coaching with every point he played, even including which direction to serve at Medvedev.

In effect, Medvedev defeated two X-US Open champions today because Juan Carlos Ferraro is Alcaraz’s coach and he was once number one in the world too.

Unfortunately, I won’t get to watch the final because I will be out on a boat watching whales! 😩

Lucky I LOVE whales.

It was a beautiful day today and if tomorrow is the same, I’ll be jumping in the pool with Harley.

Sadly for Adoring Husband, Cronulla Sharks lost their elimination final tonight and are out of the finals race for 2023.

Nothing else is new.

Whales Again

I whale watched today!

Terrible weather with dark and gloomy rain clouds and about 45 minutes of rain.

LOTS of whales, especially mothers and babies, but they didn’t like the boats and swam away every time we approached. Very disappointing day when it comes to whales really, but it was lovely to spend quality time with The Gypsy …

Doesn’t matter, because I have another trip planned for Monday! Let’s hope the whales are friendlier then.

My Broncos won their finals game tonight 26 - 0 against the Melbourne Storm.

I have to be awake at 6am tomorrow to watch Djokovic play his semi final match against the young US player, Ben Shelton.

It’s almost midnight so I’d best get some sleep.

Xmas Shopping Begun

As I mentioned yesterday, Djokovic was supposed to commence playing at 3.15am.

Thank goodness I didn’t set my alarm because when I woke at 4.45am, I turned on the TV and Novak had just won the first set 6-1. I think the match probably started closer to 4am.

He ended up winning  6-1 6-4 6-4. It was a little tougher than the scores indicate and I enjoyed the match.

Tomorrow at 10am, Alcaraz plays, so I hope to watch that one. I’ve only ever seen him play twice and both times were against Djokovic. He won one and lost one. I’m looking forward to seeing him play someone else.

Anyway, the match finished with plenty of time for me to get ready on time to leave with BGWLBH for a day in The Bay.

We shopped til we dropped.

I got a couple of Christmas presents, lots of groceries, art supplies from office works, browsed slowly through Maxine’s Shoes, enjoyed the arts and crafts shop at Pialba, almost bought a top in the dress shop, checked out the Reject Shop, bought a morning juice, got my lotto in and we looked at The Abode and their big sale.

BGWLBH got her nails done.

Comparatively speaking, we were home pretty early, but I have to say I’m feeling very tired now.

All the Hoopla

Djokovic plays his quarter final match at 3.15am and I really want to watch it, but I also really want to go into The Bay with BGWLBH in the morning.

I don’t think I’m physically capable of doing both.

I’ll decide later.

Meditation was helpful, calming, relaxing, empowering and educational.

Hoop chi was also calming and relaxing, but also fun and great for strengthening co-ordination and balance.

I chatted with The Gypsy for about 90 minutes afterwards and made plans to meet up on Friday.

BGWLBH had gone into The Bay while I was out so I watched some recorded shows with Adoring Husband and played with Harley.

I did slow cooked pork ribs for dinner and served them with coleslaw and garden salad. I didn’t eat dinner but when I got peckish later, I ate a toasted ham and raspberry jam sandwich which was very different but quite tasty!

It’s very close to midnight and I’ll be falling asleep listening to the movie “Twilight” which I’ve seen at least 50 times but it’s on TV and I stopped on that channel when I saw it.

Best get some sleep.

Loving Tennis

First up this morning, at 6.30am, I watched the Australian, Hijikata, lose his third round tennis match. He was 110 in the world playing the number 10 player in the world, so expectations were low and the experience will only be good for him. He’s a good player so I think he will rise quickly. This game lifted him to about 87th in the world.

I had time to cook breakfast and play with Harley before Djokovic’s match started at 9am.

He won in three sets but the Croatian that he played put up a good fight. The score did not indicate how close it really was.

Thoroughly enjoying the tennis!

No art again.

No naps today.

I made cottage pie with snow peas and green beans for dinner. It was quite delicious.

Meditation in the morning so it’s time to sleep.

Pandemic Panic?

Word has it that there is a planned lockdown. In USA and northern hemisphere it happens this month but Australia will be locking down in November after a super spreader event in Perth (Coldplay concert)

I’m assuming they will use this variant as their source for claiming another so-called “pandemic”.

Let’s hope the “word on the street” is all hot air and BS.

And then there’s this …

The United Nations has given the Australian Government a mandate of ownership for all housing, property, farms and business country wide that will come into effect once the republic has been proclaimed.

The only thing keeping Australia from becoming a republic is the fact that Indigenous and Torres Straight Islanders are not currently included in the constitution and are still deemed to be the original owners of the land.

If indigenous people are to be written up in the constitution, then this means indigenous people have ceded their sovereignty and the United Nations OWN ALL Australian Land under Native Title – meaning ALL Australians REGARDLESS OF COLOUR OR RACE lose their properties and houses under Native title and no longer are classed as owners – including businesses.

Be prepared. I’ll be posting plenty of stuff like this between now and 14th October.

I didn’t get any more art done today.

I cooked breakfast late this morning because I watched the Australian, Alex De Minaur, win his 3rd round match at the US Open, then I played with Harley and returned to bed until 12.30pm when I had to get up because Adoring Husband and I went for a drive to collect our weekly fresh eggs. I played again with Harley for 30 minutes until the footy started on TV.

It was a pretty chilled Sunday and I’m feeling great.

I think I might return to bed now.
