Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Restfully Me

I gifted myself this little suitcase of motivation about 6 months ago.

Ha Ha

In theory, I am very motivated and in my mind, I know exactly what I want to do - the problem is “in practice” because I can’t seem to take that first practical step.

Today, I opened the case and read some of the cards - so that puts me a step closer to achieving “something”.

Number one card tells where in the house to go and number two card tells you what to do when you get there. There are so many possible card combinations so you can’t ever predict what it will tell you and you won’t get bored!

Watch this space.

Today was a ZERO motivation day.

Harley got to play and I spent 30 minutes soaking up vitamin D during that time.

I made myself a HUGE brunch of crumbed steak, 2 x fried eggs, boiled potatoes from the garden, pickled tomato and cucumber and a piece of toasted sourdough.

Of course I couldn’t eat it all and Adoring Husband hoovered up my leftovers - the toast, half of the potato, half of the pickled stuff and 1/4 of the meat.

After that, I retreated to the bedroom for the day. I watched a Netflix movie and the football was on all afternoon. Sadly, my tipping has not improved.

Spaghetti Sunday is easy.

I am now in bed and will sleep until 1am which is when the Wimbledon men’s final starts.

Tomorrow, BGWLBH and I hope to drive out to Torbanlea to check out the new cafe and the new op shoppe. It depends on whether she is feeling well enough because was a bit ‘off’ tonight.

That’s it.

Nite all.
