Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Another Super One

Super Saturday football today!

In the footy tipping comp, I missed the Cronulla game (I tipped the Rabbitohs) but other than that, I have tipped the rest correctly. There are still two games to go.

I am equal on top of the ladder with Best Cousin in the World.

Hopefully, this year will be better than the last two years!

BGWLBH and I spent the day in The Bay again today.

We had breakfast at the Coffee Club in Stocklands and then browsed the shops.

I bought two of these to store potatoes and onions in the bottom of the pantry ...

We did the shoe shops, Kmart, clothing shops, newsagent, cheap shop and more. It was a pleasant way to wile away a couple or few hours.

We bought groceries and some fresh seafood for 'fend for yourself' night.

I made myself honey, sesame prawns.

Adoring Husband made Barkers Creek pork for himself.

BGWLBH made an omelet inside a tortilla shell, which she described as "Meh".

I played with Harley this afternoon and watched the footy until 8.30pm.

Late last night, I created a new Facebook profile. I have no idea what happened to my last account. It has completely disappeared from the planet and apparently, it never existed 💁🙅🙎

I think I'll spend tomorrow in bed finishing my course.

Another Week Bites the Dust

As of 10pm last night (Thursday) I became older than my mother ever was. Well done me for remaining on this earth.

Today, I finally bit the bullet and contacted Telstra about my email not working.

I spoke to a lovely lady, whose name I did not get. I'm sure she told me at the beginning of the phone call but I don't even remember that part of the conversation ... because I had been sitting on 'hold' for about 40 minutes by then, so I was shocked to suddenly hear a voice cut into the usual boring "hold" music.

She was very helpful and it took us 30 minutes to get it sorted (not 5 hours like Adoring Husband).

She politely laughed at my jokes and added a couple of her own. She talked me through the process, step by step, until we had success.

However ... we only had success with my iPad. We tried for another 30 minutes to get the email on my new laptop working but before we ended the call,  she told me that I would have to contact Microsoft Outlook because it must be some new upgrade required for the new computer.

I didn't think that was right so I went into my email settings and had a play around. I have no idea what I did (because I did many things) to fix it but suddenly ALL the emails that I've missed for the last two weeks suddenly appeared! I could also send and receive new emails.

Wahoo!

I spent the next hour and a half sorting through, reading and deleting the 398 emails that appeared in my inbox.

I'm STILL on my bed with my laptop.

I have tried twice to contact Facebook regarding my suspended account without any luck. I still haven't received the email that they are supposed to send explaining the suspension.

So I've successfully created another account under the name Rozzy Gee. The problem is that I am a member of many private Facebook groups that are linked to courses that I've done under my correct name and I can't access them now.

The only way I usually enter those groups is via a link in my email that goes straight into the Facebook group via my old Facebook account. I don't even know the names of the groups ... because I've never needed to know them!

I'll figure that all out later.

That has been my day.

Yesterday was a usual day in The Bay and I bought birthday gifts and make up and coffee beans and dishwasher tabs and other bits and pieces.

After watching the football last night, I was absolutely exhausted and fell asleep by 9.20pm! Unheard of!

It's now Friday afternoon and the first footy match starts in ten minutes so I'm off!

Halfway There

Secret Agent: How to Detect A Lie Instantly! - Evy Poumpouras

Make sure you have plenty of time because this interview is more than two hours long, but very interesting!

I've subscribed to this guy's YouTube channel called "Diary of a CEO" because he interviews the most interesting people.

I watched two hours with Simon Cowell. He's pretty amazing. Ivy Poumpouras is quite remarkable and I'm currently part way through an interview with my favourite, Joe Dispenza.

Trying to convince Adoring Husband to watch Joe Dispenza with me, sent him packing outside to mow the front lawn. Ive never seen him move so fast to avoid something!

I swear, he is terrified of self healing.

The only productive things I did today was to play with Harley twice, cooked Chicken Scallopini with potato and sweet potato chips and green beans for dinner - which went down a treat! It is BGWLBH's new favourite dish and AH went back for seconds.

We played Sequence before sitting down to some YouTube trivia.

MAFS was my 'go to' tonight and now I'm watching 'Scrubland', an Australian series which has me totally hooked.

Another day in The Bay tomorrow so it's time to sleep.

Bay Day

It was so good to get back to meditation today.

I've missed the last three sessions and I enjoyed this morning even though I had to leave ten minutes early.

BGWLBH and I drove into The Bay with an extensive 'to do' list.

There was nothing showing on the BOM but the skies over The Bay were dark and threatening all day. After 10am, not a drop of rain was seen or felt, so I don't know what those black clouds were doing there.

We discovered that the nail salon had reopened after the floods, so we stopped to make an appointment for Thursday. They were completely booked out but squeezed BGWLBH in because she's a regular.

All the other 'usual' shops were visited as well as Nana's Pantry where the sales lady asked after Adoring Husband (as she does every time I go into that shop) and told me how amazing he looked that last time she saw him.

I told her that he's still a pain in the a___ and she replied "Well they all are. haha."

It was a big day and it took almost an hour to unpack everything and find a home for it all.

Just enough time to play with Harley and then make a quick dinner.

BGWLBH had leftovers from last night and I added a garden salad an some boiled buttered potato.

AH had a salad roll and I had a fresh bread roll with avocado and prawns.

BGWLBH and I played a couple of games of Sequence and then we all sat down and played trivia on the smart TV.

Number One Son called tonight telling me that he had moved two weeks ago, his job is going well but he is enrolling in Medical School to become a psychiatrist. By the time he completely finishes his planned studies, he will be 50 yrs old.

I told him that's ok - he should still have another 50 yrs to work after that.

Our toilet is fixed. It had a blockage.

Now it's time for me to sleep.

Carked It

Our toilet just carked it.

The reason that this is a problem is because it's 10.30pm and everyone is asleep so they have no idea. When they get up in the middle of the night, they will find a note telling them that there is no functioning toilet in our house!

I told Barry this afternoon that there was a problem with it and he seemed to think that it was just air pockets in the pipes.

I'm here to tell you that it is more serious than that.

Today I watched an old movie on Netflix with Sally Field, Ed Harris and Keifer Sutherland called "Eye for an Eye". I remember watching it way back in 1996 (29 years ago!!!). It was great then and it was great today.

Nothing else happened today.

Tomorrow is meditation day so it's time to sleep.

Nil Productivity

I only got out of bed at 9am this morning because BGWLBH requested that I take my ironing to her. She was set up in her usual ironing spot watching her cooking shows on TV and standing on her padded mat.

I didn't have much for her to do.

So I made my cup of tea and took Harley out to play for an hour.

I cooked a couple of pork sausages and ate them with a salad for brunch.

Adoring Husband and I watched "The Electric State" on Netflix. It has some big stars like Millie Bobby Brown, Chris Pratt, Stanley Tucci, Woody Harrelson, Holly Hunter among others. The reviews for it have been divided and AH didn't like it at all. I enjoyed it very much.

The second movie starred Keanu Reeves and Diane Lane called "Hardball" and is quite old from 2001. I really enjoyed that one too.

Then it was time for the football.

Wests Tigers defeated Parramatta Eels and Canterbury are currently leading against Gold Coast 34-24.

Dinner was nice and easy - just reheating the lasagne that I made yesterday and I threw together a garden salad.

So it's been a nice lazy Sunday with beautiful weather.

Oh I did a quick photo this afternoon for the 52Frames site. The theme this week is "Egg" ...

Next week the theme is "Shallow Depth of Field".

That's all from me.
