Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Getting My Art On

I had a very pleasant day at the shop today.

Not a lot of sales, but strangely there were four different groups that came in at different times, each with one or two men who wanted to have long and detailed chats about art and photography while their friends and partners wandered through the shop!

It’s not unusual for a man to want to chat about such things, but four in one day is VERY unusual!

I spent most of the day setting up the training room for our art workshop on Saturday and even had time for a little practice ... I didn’t take a photo.

Two things to share today.

A dust storm rolled into Griffith on Wednesday evening ...

I remember them well. Close your windows every time you go out because you never know when these buggers are suddenly going to appear and whip red dust through your house! Made that mistake once ... only once!

This is the original track of the cyclone that’s going to form, but apparently it’s going to go even further south and northern NSW will be in the firing line.

I headed to the club tonight and had another nice win on the pokies which will pay for my Goddess Fortuna statue that I ordered through Tinkerbells today.

She is going to bring even more good fortune into my life!

Now I’m off to bed so that I can be fresh for art tomorrow.

Nite all.

Practice

Adoring Husband and I spent a good portion of the day in The Bay purchasing supplies for the paint workshop this weekend.

I found some great bargains!

I had a bit of a practice on the jellyfish this afternoon ...

These are on small canvases and we’ll be using much bigger ones on Saturday.

We’ve had more beautiful rain overnight and today. Everything is green and lush again BUT apparently there is a cyclone forming in the Coral Sea and if it does form, it will head straight towards us!

The only good thing about a cyclone is that some drought affected areas out west might receive some much needed rain.

Otherwise the idea of a cyclone at this time scares me!

Also, it’s rotten timing! We have plans for the next month! We don’t want a cyclone forcing us to cancel these plans!

I’ve just received a message that The Motivator is not well 🤒 so that means I’ll be working tomorrow. Time for bed!!

Get well soon TM 😘

Nite all.

Peaceful Epiphany

I had an epiphany at meditation this morning.

It will be a game changer.

More on that when it’s actually changing the game.

As part of her kinergetics training, The Motivator tested me for some allergies and intolerances this morning. Strangely, gluten wasn’t as bad as yeast, MSG and fluoride. It was just a quick run through because time was short so there will be more testing at a later date.

It’s all very interesting.

There is another art workshop this weekend ...

There will be a couple of young new faces attending this week so it should be fun.

We’ve had a couple of inches of rain today and it’s really coming down heavily tonight. It sounds fabulous on our tin roof and I’m looking forward to falling asleep to the sound of it.

This looks like good road trip material ...

I think I like the blue one, although the green one has lots of space to spread out comfortably.

Nite all.

Low Energy Day

As promised, this morning during coffee with the girls, I said I would post this advertisement from the Super Bowl starring Jason Momoa.

Apart from a brief visit with The Motivator when she read my Tarot cards beautifully, I have done nothing else of note today.

My day actually began on a sad note when I read my brother’s blog where he described the day that he found our mother after she had suddenly and unexpectedly passed away in 2005. It triggered me big time and I lost my breath and fell apart briefly but uncontrollably.

I had to work hard to stop that from setting the tone for my day and it was pure good luck that the next part of my day was having morning coffee with the girls which lifted my spirits.

There was a nap at 4pm.

I made a salad and a peppery mushroom sauce for Adoring Husband’s steak that he cooked on the barbecue.

I made myself a simple smoothie of frozen pineapple, mango and a little bit of leftover watermelon from the fridge all blitzed with coconut water.

MAFS is on TV as I write this and I hope to be asleep early so that I can attend meditation in the morning.

Look at this cuteness!

There’s a bit of rain heading in this direction and they’ve forecast somewhere in the vicinity of 100mm over the next few days so things should green up in the area.

I’ve also got a farewell lunch to attend tomorrow. Hopefully it’s not too wet for that or we’ll be traipsing through mud from the car to the club!

Here’s hoping I have some extra energy tomorrow.

Nite all.

Oz Final

That was a good match.

Djokovic is a great champion.

I love how he understands food and how it effects his mental and physical strength and stamina on the tennis court. I love how he uses affirmations, meditation, manifesting and positive reinforcement to help him believe in his abilities and fight through the tough matches.

I like him a lot.

Dominic Thiem is also a great player and I imagine he will reach number one in the near future and win a few grand slam titles himself.

Now the tennis is over and all the trashy TV shows start this week. Married at First Sight, My Kitchen Rules, Survivor - All Stars and more.

I got my washing done today!

Spent a lot of time in bed this morning - with Psychotic dog Jack who is struggling at the moment and has been off his food a bit.

I just realised that it’s after midnight and I’m expecting a visitor in the morning so I’d best get some sleep!

Nite all.
