Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Active Brain

While we were away, I missed two lessons of my "Embodied IChing" course and I blame the rain and distraction of Hervey Bay flooding for missing the third lesson on Monday.

These lessons are live ZOOM lessons every Monday and Thursday evening at 6pm, which they record, so that people like me can catch up when we can.

Today was one of those catch up days.

IChing is health and energy healing and involves Qi Gong, Nei Gong, Wei Gong, Yin and Yang, Divination and the 7 Chakras.

It also teaches gentle movements and stretches for each Chakra under the energies of Lake, Thunder, Fire, Water, Mountain, Earth, Heaven and Wind.

There is a lot involved but instead of learning intellectually, it should be absorbed instinctively and intuitively.

It's a LOT but I just want some knowledge of another natural healing modality that can be useful for me and anyone else who cares about their health. Natural healing modalities are great for supporting mainstream medicine too.

I spent five hours in my bedroom with my laptop and notebook watching videos of the movements, taking notes on each of the Chakras and listening to the three teachers.

I still have one lesson left to catch up on, which will take about 2 hours.

My brain hurts. I'm too old for this haha.

BGWLBH and I are going to venture into the flood zone tomorrow.

The floodwaters have receded. Most of the supermarkets are now fully stocked and we need to get our lotto renewed. Stockland's has reopened. I guess it's good to support local businesses as quickly as possible after the drama and missed income over a good portion of the week.

Now it's time to sleep.

Nite all.
