Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

AM Productivity

Productive in the morning.

Out of bed by 8am, made my tea and played with Harley for an hour. He gave up before me this time!

Straight to the kitchen where I spent 3 hours making three lasagnes. One for Sunday night and the others for the freezer.

Also in that 3 hours, I prepared 10 Harley meals chopping up and boiling carrot, sweet potato, pumpkin, green beans, celery, broccoli which I added to 3kgs of premium beef mince, 2 raw eggs, some 'best mate' powdered goodness and some rosehip vital for healthy joints. I just remembered that I forgot the hemp oil ... bugga.

The last thing I did in that 3 hours was make a butter cake and iced it with lemon icing. Afterwards, I discovered one of our purple passionfruit on the ground in the pool area so I sprinkled the flesh of that over the icing.

I made myself a late-ish lunch with a sarsaparilla spider on the side.

That was all done, just in time to sit down and watch Super Saturday football!

I tipped two out of the three games correctly. Sadly, my beloved Broncos were soundly beaten by Canberra Raiders.

It was 'fend for yourself' dinner. I had made myself a toasted ham, cheese and tomato sandwich at 1pm and I was still satisfied from that, so I made a cup of 'digestive ease' leaf tea and ate a small piece of the cake.

It feels very late and I'm quite tired, so it's time to sleep.

Nite all.
