It's late and I'm sitting on the couch with Vegan Chickie wondering what to write about.
Here are her suggestions:
1. My picnic lunch with Woman of Many Talents and Mrs Bucket today at the Lion's Park.
2. Chicklet rolling over for the first time tonight, while I was out.
3. My new steam machine which I love but Adoring Husband detests.
4. The white limousine trike that I want to buy, because my red trike makes terrible noises when I put heavy things in the rear basket.
5. Market Day preparations for the markets that I don't really want to attend tomorrow. Looking for motivation.
6. The football 'pick the score' competition at the local pub.
7. Psychotic dogs barking and being psychotic over the late afternoon storm yesterday.
8. The fabulousness that is Vegan Chickie. What a great mother, wife, daughter, friend, granddaughter, niece, sister, speller, writer, cook, blog suggestioner and word maker upperer she is!!
I don't think I will write about any of those things because it's after 11pm and I have to get out of bed EXTRA early tomorrow to get myself organised for the markets that I am SO not prepared for!!
So thank you for your suggestions Vegan Chickie. It has been an amusing discussion with some good ideas, but instead, I am going to climb into my warm bed and thaw out my frozen body. I can't believe how cold it is tonight!!

Missed Opportunities
What a gloriously beautiful day it was here today!
They told me at the 'seat of knowledge', that in the last week, on the mornings or afternoons that I haven't been there, they've seen both dugongs AND dolphins in the river!!
Dolphins are rarely seen in the river here. Everybody loves dolphins and I would LOVE to get photos of them in my river!!
We had a visit from a lovely little Butcher Bird at the 'seat of knowledge' this morning.
I left there with Aussie H and after we checked our mail at the Post Office (we don't have a mail delivery service in our little town), I decided to go with her on a long ride around one of the lakes in town.
We ran into some ducks frolicking in and on the edge of the water.
Is he the Pied Piper or is he Dorothy on the yellow brick road!
This afternoon, Adoring Husband was lured by the moon and borrowed my camera to take this photograph.
Must be full moon coming up soon.
Hopefully another opportunity to catch the moon rising over the water. I missed the dugongs and dolphins, but I don't want to miss the full moon. Some opportunities, you can plan for, and shouldn't be missed!

Average to Great
Took the trusty trike to the Dr today.
A couple of days ago, I was riding home from afternoon tea with my girls, when my trike began making horribly loud clicking noises.
I tried changing the gears up and down a few times, to no effect. I tried hitting the brakes hard a few times, to no effect. I called Adoring Husband outside to check it over, to no effect.
It wasn't the gears, it wasn't the brakes and it wasn't the wheels.
So we decided to book it in for a check up (it was only serviced about two months ago).
We were given 8.30am as our appointment time and the young man suggested that he usually arrived at work early, so there wouldn't be a problem.
A different young man arrived to open the shop at 9.05am!! Not happy Jan!!
While we waited for the trike to be checked, Adoring Husband and I decided to go to the movies.
The movie that we saw is now on my list of 'Top 5 Worst Movies of all Time'.
It was 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes'. Ugh!! Don't go there!!
The best part of the movie was the vanilla, macadamia nut, choc top ice cream that I had for breakfast during the previews before the movie started.
Turned out there was nothing wrong with the trike and the clicking disappeared the second we took it off the trailer to wheel it into the shop.
At least he only charged us $10 to tell us that information.
We all enjoyed completing the Census form tonight!
It seems that Vegan Chickie and I both share a secret ... we enjoy filling out official forms!
It's no longer a secret :o)
Just to sneak one little photo in for the day. This one was taken Sunday morning, right on the turn of the tide, when the water was very still.
So my trike turned out to be fine. The ice cream at the cinemas was delicious. We got to complete a most official Australian form tonight AND I got to have lots of Chicklet quality time after dinner tonight!!
What started out as an average day has finished up as a pretty great day!!

Bye Bye Bubbles :o(
It was time to wave goodbye to Bubbles today :o(
A couple of photos taken of Bubbles and I at the Eumundi Hotel, where we had lunch on day one, after we picked her up from the airport.
Before Bubbles left this morning, I asked Adoring Husband to take some photos of 'the girls' together.
Impossible to get all of us doing the right thing at the right time!
Nice to have us all together in one photo ... who knows when we will all be together again!

Girl's Day Together
There may be some illness developing in the house :o( Bugga!
Bubbles and I walked and rode (she walked and I rode) down to the Lion's Park for lunch today. We packed some fresh bread rolls, cold water and salt n pepper in a cooler bag and I stopped to get a cooked chook from the supermarket, but they didn't have any!
How strange that at lunch time on a Sunday, they wouldn't have any cooked chooks available!!
So I bought some ham and cheese instead and headed off to meet Bubbles at the park.
The park was surprisingly busy and there was only one table free for us to sit at.
The day was gloriously perfect with a few scattered clouds and a nice breeze blowing.
We sat and made our sandwiches and ate them enjoying the atmosphere.
We didn't sit for long before deciding to walk along the path which winds it's way along the river from the park to the beach, at the far end of town.
Bubbles took some photos along the way and we stopped at the beach to take some more photos and for her to phone 'Knight in Shining Armour'.
Here are some of my photos. I really liked the cloud formation rising above Fraser Island!
We got a phone call from Vegan Chickie while we were there, to ask us to meet her at the shops for coffee. So we spent about an hour having drinks and chatting and enjoying each other's company.
It was a really nice afternoon.
I realised later in the day that I had to rush home to get the lamb roast in the oven!
We all sat around the table to enjoy a lovely baked dinner tonight and then watched the final of MasterChef Australia on telly, together.
As I write this, Bubbles, Vegan Chickie and I are watching the Blueray version of the movie '2012'. Not the greatest movie in the world and it did have potential, but it's a bit of light entertainment to enjoy together on Bubbles' last night for this trip.
So our day has mostly been a great girl's day together and I don't know about the girls, but I really enjoyed it!!

Baby High Five Day!
Adoring Husband went to golf today to play in the Club Championships.
The Bare-chested Chef went to work today.
Vegan Chickie, Bubbles, Chicklet and I stayed at home and watched DVDs together and ate fish and chips for lunch.
We watched Finding Nemo, Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse.
I took a series of photos of Chicklet drumming in her zebra outfit that BGWLBH bought for her while I was visiting her.
Adoring Husband is doing ok in the Club Championships and plays again tomorrow and then again next weekend. May the force be with him!
Hopefully, if the weather is nicer than it was today, we will go for a picnic by the river tomorrow.
Unfortunately, it's Bubbles' last full day. Her visit has been short and sweet, but productive.
Since she arrived, she has been trying to teach Chicklet to 'baby high five'. Apparently, while I was having my nana nap this afternoon (which I am allowed to do now that I'm a grandmother!), she succeeded!! I received the animated version of the success story when I woke up!
So happy baby high five day!
