Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Arachnophobic

Sight of the week was of six women from the meditation class combing through The Gypsy’s car in search of a large huntsman spider that had appeared briefly and suddenly disappeared.

The Gypsy is arachnophobic, as are half of the women who were searching.

The car was in the carpark of the hall and we were all emptying it of its contents hoping to stumble upon the spider. I, not being phobic, ran my hands under the seats and lifted the mats. We went through that vehicle with a fine toothed comb and found nothing.

Thankfully, on the trip home, she hadn’t yet reached the highway when said spider decided to make its presence felt again, but she was armed with a spray can so Mr Spider is no more.

Meditation was perfect, as always.

Hoop chi was enjoyable but I overstretched at one point and my back is now suffering. Must remember, bend only at the waist!

Luckily for me, it’s Taco Tuesday so dinner didn’t take too much time or effort.

Now I’m feeling very weary.

Nite all.
