Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Rewards

It is 5pm and I am currently sipping my second bucket (very large vessel) of wine.

This is my reward after enduring 90 minutes of torture, sitting my Anatomy and Physiology exam.

As I stated in my Facebook status...

It was horrible. Plenty of guesses in the multiple choice questions. Plenty of scribble and scratches in the 'match the statements'. Plenty of waffle in the short answer questions. Reasonably confident in the True/False questions.

This makes up 40% of my final subject mark. Not feeling confident.

I MAY have 'just' passed. Fingers crossed.

Seriously, it's impossible to study 6 weeks worth of material in just one week and expect to do well in an exam. These subjects are not easy if you've NEVER studied even basic science before.

However, my situation is self inflicted and I only have myself to blame.  From here on in, I resolve to do better. I resolve to apply myself completely, and not just for the week leading up to whatever assignment or exam is due.

So .. NO MORE PROCRASTINATING .. time to get serious about this subject and give myself a fighting chance!!

I've got this.

Nite all.
