Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Still Wet

At 9am today, we had 80mm of rain in the gauge.

It has rained quite steadily for most of today so I expect another 40-50mm.

With the rain came a nice temperature drop and a beautiful cool breeze from the south. We didn’t even need to turn on the air conditioner all day!

Adoring Husband suggested that we spend the day playing games like Scrabble, but I wasn’t in the mood for anything that required brain activity, so I spent many hours wrapping Christmas presents to send all over Australia.

I still have to wrap more yet 🫤

Harley got to play when there were a couple of rain breaks, so he was happy.

For dinner, I did a lamb, rice, leek and tomato dish served with snow peas, green beans and zucchini.

AH and I watched the test cricket between India and Australia, followed by the BBL 20/20 match between Perth Scorchers and Melbourne Stars. Perth won.

A very sporty day.

It’s after 11pm now. Tomorrow will be spent packaging up and addressing the parcels to send off in time for Christmas.

Also more cricket!

Nite all.
